    • Where are you Mick.

If your in WA you will not get access to the tracking system. (doesn't work here)

Also depends on what you have ordered on how long you may have to wait for delivery.

Also some dealers seem to be able to get them quicker than others or you could get luck and someone could cancel an order for what your looking for.

Mine has been on order since September and still no firm delivery date.

Anyway welcome to the waiting room.

      • Thanks Chuck I'am in Gladstone Qld, the dealer did say around 3mth wait on the GXL D-4D Charcoal Grey with Soveriegn Bull Bar towbar Duel Battery headlight & bonnet protectors cargo mat hard wheel cover & brake controller. Been looking around forum for a while was thinking about buying a Pajero but brain kicked in and ordered the Prado. Very happy with the decision, but not so happy with the wait. Now thinging about purchasing a GME TX3440 UHF with a CD9000 ariel and some recovery gear, anyone suggest a kit you can buy, as I am very (first 4x4) new to 4 wheel drives, will use to tow a Millard 17' Caravan and to go to places we could'nt before without the 4x4

        Thanks
        Mick

        • Tracking stepped forward to "In transit" on Friday and added VIN and engine number. And today the dealer advised it'll be ready for pickup on March 31. Much as promised - ordered 06/12/07

Now this is certainly different. I thought the World Wide Web even stretched over to W.A. Is there any reason why you guys don't get access to the Toyota Tracking database over there? You should at least be able to get the first few steps in the ordering process, even if they don't scan your vehicle at the dock on arrival.

It's a crazy Ol' world. How Bizare! ops:

Do you mean "In transit to Australia (imported vehicles only)" or "In Transit"

"In transit to Australia (imported vehicles only)": means its on the boat.
"In Transit": means it is on the truck that picked your Prado up from the docks and will deliver it to the dealership.

If the later - then I would be asking your delearship why it takes 3 weeks for them to get the Prado ready. My dealer said it will only take them no more than one week, and that includes having ARB fit the Deluxe bar.

                          • Its Here!!

After a few POQed posts. My 2008 VX Prado was delivered last Thursday after ..... wait for it ....... 8 months to the day. Ordered in Aug 07. Overall the worst experience I have ever encountered buying a car. And for added insult the Dealer " Brighton Toyota" telling me of a $1400 increase in price a week from delivery. Toyota knows they have us by the balls and are taking advantage of supply vs demand. As for the VX I am very happy and have put on 500kms over the weekend. Good luck and happy waiting.

                            • I have bought a new V6, only a 3 week wait for it. I can't believe some of you guys are waiting that long for a diesel, I'd be buying a late model second hand.

                              • I Found The Key To Waiting Room

I ordered my GXL D4D Auto Option Pack #1 on 11 December 2007. I received a call from the dealer telling me that it will be ready for pickup on Friday 14 March 2008. Thats a wait of 3 months, short by some comparisons, but long for any vehicle.

Worst thing about the phone call was ARB is also having up to one month delay in supplying their Delux winch bar. Which was supposed to be fitted today. Although the dealer ordered it over 2 weeks ago, I find out today that I will be waiting another two weeks. ARB will fit the bar anywhere I want. So that is good customer service recognising the wait for the Bar.

The only good thing about all this is another 4 sleeps to go      . And with the help of PML120r - we are fitting the OME suspension Friday afternoon/evening. Then wheel alignment Saturday morning first thing.
I bet, like other waiting PP members, that I wont be sleeping at all this week.
