That is so they can get it back and cleaned up from the extended test drive it has been on.

Good luck mate, I guess you will be watching every second tick by today?

              • Hey Mick4680, let me tell you (although I'm sure you're probably aware) when you get it next week it just keeps getting better and better (says the owner of 1 1/2 days). Although it doesn't get any easier. I'm glad I got a dual battery set-up in it as I'm sure the battery would have been flat last night and tonight as I go out every fifteen minutes to look at or try something different. The wrapper is off mate but there is so much bloody present there it is endless Christmas. if I wasn't so busy enjoying mine I would envy your experience when you drive off from the dealer. Don't make the same mistakes as me. After having Hilux' for so long I put it in reverse to back out only to jump forward and stall as that is now 6th *#*#. Had the grandkids with me so drove to Mackas for lunch (something usually forbidden in our household). Went to lock the beast with remote key, and wouldn't work. I had only driven 2km from dealer. using the key as central locking worked and unlocking with the remote worked. OK kids, we'll get the burger Pa promised and go back to the dealer. Poor little mites didn't have time to finish before I bundled them back in the car. By the way, the cup holders work great for large fries. Back at the dealer they sent the apprentice out to fix me up and he was blowed if he could work it out. Thought he might have to reprogram the keys. Walking back into the workshop he said 'all the doors are closed properly aren't they?' Guess what. In my defence, I can claim to have educated an apprentice who will now always look for a door slightly ajar in the future. Unfortunately I am going to get heaps from the others for some time to come.

                • talking to a mate of mine last night, who is in the service department for toyota. We talked about Lexus and all the other Toyota vehicles that they service (over 100/day) and his comment was that he wished he had a Prado!!!!!

                  • We went for our first decent run on the highway today, to Newcastle and back, to have lunch. That's a 500km meal. Anyway it validated Chippy's comment when I first posted on pp, something to the effect that if I thought the Hilux was comfy I would find the Prado similar to driving my loungechair only quieter. You were spot on mate, but I guess much of that is because I got a white one. I've never driven a car with cruise control before. I was told it was best to wait a few kms before using cruise control but the temptation ... . Don't get to do much do you! I know I'm preaching to the converted but this car is so good. The fuel gauge must be one of those that is slow to start and then drops away rapidly towards the end. I'll have to fill up to check tomorrow, but I did about 500km and it's still halfway between 3/4 & full (and it's not back on the second tank). Admittedly 1/2 the trip is 80kph at the moment with all the roadworks but still and all. I'm getting different headlight globes next week though, the stock standards are certainly crap. It really is incredible what a great vehicle it is though, at the risk of repeating myself, repeating myself. You blokes are probably sitting in front of the computer reading this and nodding your heads and thinking, 'another one hooked'.

Sandy born Apr 08, delivered 30 May 08

had a whole 3km on the clock, now over a 150km, with lots more to follow.

stock standard at the moment but lots of goodies to follow.
Have 4 large kids (12 to 16 YO) and they like the fact that they have elbow and some leg room.
Will add more pics into the introductions folder shortly.

And Yes I have been bitten by the Prado bug, I hope the symptoms never go away!!!
