Hmmm looks like there are no Toyota reverse sensors in the country. I've been told 6-10 days wait to come from Lumen in SYD. I have the option to wait or take delivery and have them fitted at first service. I'm inclined to wait :?

From what most have found on this site it depends on lots of things.Originally posted by intensOK hello all!!!! just put my order in on a silver Gxl D4D manual today after making a mistake and buying another new car 7 months ago (live and learn) costly experience, the dealer says about 3 months, is that about right??
Firstly the accessories you want the factory to include like service packs etc add to time.
Also some dealers seem to have more push than others.
D4D's definately take time as there is hold up's in manufacturing as they also come in Hilux's too.
Various colours add time.
Hard to get along with customers add time.
All in all, 3 months is the standard response for a D4D. Delays can add time. Mine was 3 months but others have been up to 8/9 months for various models.
Happy waiting.07 Prado GXL, D4D manual, silver and a fridge with constantly changing beer levels.

I spoke to the dealer today (who was quite un helpful!) about the estimated delivery date of my D4D GXL. The vehicle was ordered early April from the lease company. The first "estimated" delivery date was July 30. The dealer today told me that I should not hold my breath. I should not expect it before the end of the year as a build date is still yet to be confirmed. I believe that to be unacceptable.
A great vehicle I know, but are they really worth that much of a wait??
I looked at a few sites on the net and found another dealer which has the exact vehicle I am after coming in the next few weeks. (GXL, Manual, D4D, white). the only difference being that it will not have Option Pack 1 fitted (Airbags), but hey, I may get my Prado in a few weeks rather than 6 months.
So my advice to everyone, I your dealer won't look around to other dealers to get you into you car quicker, search yourself. I started by using carsales.com.au and carpoint.com.au. I did this as the dealer I was using did not seem very enthusiastic about getting cars from other dealers.
Hope it helps some people in the waiting list!!!2013 GXL LC200 TTV8
