Dealers scheduled delivery is 28.5.08 then we wait for some toyo and aftermarket bits to be fitted..

By the way all Toyotas now come to Sydney dealers via Wollongong. How do I know I worked on the docks for a while. So add that to your delay, GO D GONG

Isn't waiting bloody hard. Mine landed in Oz 7 May. Latest is it is waiting transport from some capital city so should here early this week and pick up end of week (everything crossed). I only ordered 26 April, so should count myself lucky. No way would I have handled any longer. There was another thread today, I think from Freshwater, commenting that Salesman had offered him two GXL Manuals. Same thing happened to me. Dealer had one coming if I wanted it. I think it is that dealers, besides cutomer orders, order vehicles on spec and then whoever gets a sale swaps among other dealers and owe each other favours and swaps. I can't see any dealership being left with too many Prado's waiting to be sold. But by looking after each other, they keep customers happy and build swap points with each other. Only problem there is they have no control of where vehicle docks as it goes to port of original dealer and they may have to ship vehicle from Darwin to NSW which can also take an age. Perhaps that's when we get strung along a tad. Again, only my opinion, but it seems if you order factory options, then it goes on an order list back to the factory and that takes time. For me, with D4D manual GXL, the only option was side airbags which wasn't a biggy as I couldn't wait. Put my deposit on and that secured the vehicle which was already on the ship en route. Impatience dictated I take the quick way, and that seems ages. Despite my impatience, I'm certainly happy with the dealer and their efforts to keep Mr Obsessive aware of each step. At the end of the day we're all going to be out driving one day soon instead of playing on this bloody computer. Ain't it sad.

The Eagle has landed! Wellllll perhaps 'the white chook is here' would be more appropriate. Whatever it's called it is at the dealer getting finishing touches and I pick up Thursday. Friends in far places will be getting vistis this weekend as I clock up the first 1000 km. Don't know who is the most impatient, me or the grandkids. When a 3 year old puts her hands on the hips with the most serious face and says 'where is our new car pa? It should be here.' It's hard to take yourself too seriously.

Well the Atlantic Highway docked 8 days ago and late today mine is "in transit to dealership" :lol: . Oh what a feeling Toyota :P . Then I have accessories to be fitted then finally mine. Don't know if the nails will take much more. :roll:

Enjoy it CJD mine is at the dealers today pickup date on the tracking system is the 3rd rang the contact person at the dealer today, had to leave a message rang out as Iam trying to confirm a pickup date
