Hey I have even been as far as test driving the 6 letter P word but alas no cigar. Just not up to the same standard.

So its wait another month, as for the sweetener it will need to be good as the amount of stuff around I have had warrants more than a key ring. :lol: :lol:

I am just glad I did not fly down to pick up the wrong car.

My dealer has a problem with I'll get back to you, he doesn't. Service is obviously not a high priority if I had known this in the first place I never would of looked at purchasing the car from them.

All correct but it doesn't change the fact that we are delayed again but it was a bit of a distraction for a while.

Signed Papers today for GXL Auto Diesel. Was given a batch number with a May build. End of June Delivery.
Having said that.
Toyota told me 6 to 8 months for Diesel Prados due to general world shortage and that they have increased production, but it won't be noticed till mid year.
so, we'll wait and see..

Well done Buggrd I signed the papers in mid Feb still have know idea when dealer orginally told me May 14th have emailed him twice since trying to get the tracking code detail with no reply. my thoughts he does not have it yet :x . All the best with your delivery I was told april build but I think the dealer was guessing.

My Prado, ordered mid-Feb, has arrived in Perth, just waiting for licencing and rego. Delivery was delayed about two weeks by a train de-railment (not the train with my car on it, rather the train in front of the train with my car on it).

I have a mate who ordered his in January and has been given a May delivery date.

AND my brother has a mate who ordered a Hilux and was told he would have to wait nine months!

I count myself lucky...Car SHOULD be on my driveway by week's end

Seems the cars in WA are taking longer to deliver than ones in the Eastern states. Where they unloaded from the boat?

All the people I know have "only" waited 2-3 months tops... All are D4D. Most of them are through a Lease company. So they may be fast tracked due to a corporate agreement.

My mate who is waiting until May ordered his through a lease company...

Best theory I have heard is that mining companies are snapping Prados up now, rather than spending at least $80K on a 200 series LandCruiser.

Bigger demand in WA = longer waiting lists...I bought mine from a dealer in Sydney which has greatly reduced the wait time. If only it wasn't for that train derailment...

Mine will be ordered through LeasePlan in the next few days... I keep staring when I see white GXL's drive by. My wife is sick of me pointing them out!

Also just looked on Carsales ... only 4 Diesels on there. Two GXL Autos. One Black, one Dark Grey. One VX in Dark Grey. One GX in White.

People just snap them up so fast...

You should be sitting down before reading this...

First there was a shipping delay at the NSW end. Then there was a train derailment in WA, which held my car up in SA.

I drive out to the Kewdale depot on Friday to speed up the licensing process. The kind ladfy who is helping me drives me out to the Midland licensing depot.

Alas, all licensing depots in WA were closed because of a strike...

I should get it tomorrow, but I can't hold my breath anymore.

One of the guys I work with was picking my brains, last Friday, as he wanted to go out and get a Prado. The new D4D ... in a GXL or VX .... seemed to be his best option.

He went shopping on Saturday morning and, at his second dealer, found a BRAND NEW, just delivered, dark blue VX D4D Auto ... exactly what he was after .... and its lease deal had just fallen through. He picks it up in a week.


Its the luck of the draw. :roll:
