New vehicle delivery times ?

Just thought i would throw this question out, don't know if anyone has covered it before.

When or if do you think Toyota will get back to the stage that you can go to the dealership and almost buy one off the showroom floor?

Because when i bought mine (not D4D) a gxl was not a problem in fact you could just about have any colour you wanted there and then. A VX or Grande was about a month wait or even better if you rang around.

Well I think there are plenty of stock around but the issue is if you order option packs or a D4D. Obviously the option packs are built to order and the D4d well I suppose demand outstrips supply.

My car is ready and waiting, but due to work commitments it can't be picked up until Thursday!!!!

Ordered 7 Feb, and has been at the delivery centre for about a week. So about 2 months, I got lucky. I wonder why people have to wait for 6 months, that's crazy!

So 6 more sleeps!

There is very little stock here in Central Queensland of either unleaded or desiel. Dealer here told me a 4 week wait on a standard no option pack GXL petrol or 5 to six months wait on a standard D 4D with or without options. I thought I read somewhere on the forum that they made 10,000 a month for world wide consumption which begs the question how popular are they.
I know from my own experience i ordered a D 4D GXL no option pack just a heap of accessories in Jan now have a planned production month of May 2008 expected delivey date of June 2008

I now Toyota make about 10 000 vehicles a day in Japan, but dont know how many are Prados. Their sales figures for Jan were 350 000 vehicles for the month :shock: :shock:
Hillux are made elsewhere.

If anyone has yesterdays Saturday Telegraph (Sydney), Windsor Toyota advertised they had plenty of '08 stock of Prados'. I can't remember if they quoted a quantitiy or not.

I thought the Windsor Toyota ad said $53995.00 drive away for a GXL but I don't have the paper to confirm. If so I thought that was a pretty good price. Obviously you could get a few accessories but the intial price wasn't bad IMO

Got an email from smart salary,
My new pride and joy should be coming ashore about the 11/5/08, 10 day to pass quarantine and compliance, then 20th at the dealer, then 4-5 days for them to fit my stuff, so hopefully it will be ready for me to pick up by the end of May.

Well, Toyota have done it again! :evil:

I called Toyota this morning to get rego plate number etc for cover note, and asked what time I can come and get it tomorrow.

The dealer says, "Tomorrow? Who told you it was going to be here tomorrow?"

He obviously forgot about the phone call he gave me early March when he told me it would be here this date come hell or ghigh water! :shock:

He can't even tell me if it's in the country....

I'm at the end of my tether with these clowns
