I'm dropping a tyre size down to 255/55R19 - Not ideal but i've run this size in a Wrangler Duratrac on my Amarok previously and got 110k from them with a huge amount of gravel driving.

General consensus is there wont be a decent tyre in 265/55R19 for some time... years is the feeling..

    Very Crappy!

You'll read about it in the online rags before your dealer knows what's going on.

Unfortunately many unknowns at the moment, any intel would be welcomed!

I was at my local Tyre shop today, nothing yet. General advice is buy some 17" rims.

2 months later, contemplating the VX vs the GXL, it seems the only thing I'd miss about the VX is the 360 camera system.
Clarifying the upgraded seats are available on the GXL and the 17" rims.

Also considering the GXL got a bunch of the new tech just now, the VX value doesn’t seem as good, since you pay more for different wheels that you can’t buy tyres for. Bad decision by Toyota. I emailed BFGoodrich about any plans for KO2 in 19 inch, no reply yet.

1, toyota just get all prado share the same part in worldwide, 265/55r19 is existing size in EU and Japen market. Shortlist wheel sizes for same car model can reduce cost.

2, Upgrade wheel size is the cheapest way to let you pay extra money for same car.

3, they have made good deal with their tyre supplier Dunlop to boost tyre supplier's profit. Future prado owner will pay more money to buy tyres from Dunlop.

Also even in worldwide only a few tyre brand making 265/55r19, that means even once Australia got this size on the market, still very high price. Also only less than 5 brand making 265/55r19 AT tyre in the worldwide~, it's not a 4wd size at all.
