It's bloody annoying and most of the time the service you get in Australia is also pretty lacking.

I got a price on an ARB bar through ARB, then rang an ARB stockiest and they wanted almost an extra $300 for the bar AND an extra $400 for the winch.

I would love to only buy Australian products from Australian suppliers, but until they get real with their service and prices then they will continue to miss out.
i just purchased a new pelican case, even after paying $200 express post shipping from the US (2 days), I was $200 better off than buying it here. there is something seriously wrong there! it makes me sick.

      Off topic I know but...

Cheaper prices from the US are not just because the local retailer is charging too much, apart from economies of scale (i.e. large quantity sold at low margin) the tax system and incentives in the US (and other countries) does have a significant effect on the selling price of products, couple that with our own tax system and some of the price disparity is explained.

So I believe we should not vent at local retailers because it may not be in their power to reduce prices significantly or match internet pricing.

Too right... Could be a good score for someone. I would think that the bids will up pretty high on these though.

Lethal and fellow Prado lovers, just a note on purchases from the States and why we pay less from the US. It's called the Free Trade Agreement sent up by the Gov'ts, where items manufactured solely in the US from US products can be purchased and imported into Aust with minimal tax or in some cases tax free.
This is why certain retailers of equipment (eg Boat sales) are jumping up and down on items sold on ebay or purchased directly on line, they are missing out on their % profit.

If someone buys these i will contribute $100 to their purchase and swap one of my HID pencil beam spotties for one of these euro beams. I have been told that this will be an awesome combo as my HID pencil beams shine for literally kilometres but i need a wider beam as well. One of these euros and one of my pencil beams would be crazy light.

So someone grab these and ill swap one of them for one of my pencil beams and $100!!! means your getting ultimate HID lighting for around $350...

i used my HID's from glow worm tunnel newnes back to lithgow one night and the lighting is second to none... unbelievable light. check out my build up thread to see my spotties.

                          now thats a bargain...
