Alrighty then, finally got around to fitting this head unit and thought I would share my experience so far.
Actually fitted it about 3-4 weeks ago but been busy changing nappies on a newborn so the missus wouldn't let me play on here but she's in bed now! Woo Hoo!
So this is the new version with TV. Unit fitted in well and had no probs with depth as some have had with the older unit although I believe it is possible to make the older unit fit ok with a bit of fiddling.
I ran the ipod and USB wiring through to the glove box and drilled a hole in the back of that top section to house these so I can leave my ipod connected and stored in there as all ipod details are shown on the screen.
I ran the sat nav arial up the drivers side pillar and mounted on top right hand corner of windscreen, (or will when I work out what sort of glue to use).
The two tv arials that came with the unit I ran to each end of the dash, through the door openings under that u-shaped moulding and out onto the two rear corners of the bonnet secured by the magnetic base. This was and is a temporary fit until I work out what else to do with them, expected it to look dicky but you really don't notice them. Any suggestions??
So got it in and was worried coz I had no steering wheel controls but after playing around with it worked out you need to program it to learn what button you want to do what.
Couldn't get the TV to work at first but played around and sorted that too, won't work at home but I live in a digital black spot area in the rainforest and need some super duper expensive digital arial on the roof of my house to recieve digital TV at home, so alls cool there.
Satnav works well but my big round fingers don't work to well on the screen, always pressing the wrong thing! (Stylus could fix that)
Haven't hooked up the reverse cam yet but hope to in the near future.
So overall so far I think it's a great unit and does every thing it says on the box!! good price, and not to hard for anyone to atleast have a go at fitting themselves.
Made a great improvement to the look of the dash compared to the standard unit so yes I'm happy I done it!
Any questions ask away.
I should say it came with no instructions at all, maybe this was just mine.

I only have the Mode and Volume buttons on my wheel so that is all that I have done and it worked fine.
As far as tuning to the AM station I had no problem seeking for them in Brisbane.
The only problem I had was a very annoying series of loud beeps as I was driving around Brisbane. It was driving me mad and I thought there was something wrong with the unit. Turns out it was just the warnings from the navigation system letting me know of the red light cameras etc. The way it was set it was warning me from 200 meters away, and all the way up to them. So around Bris. they were going off a fair bit. Now I have them turned off and there is no problem.
I have ordered some anti-glare iPad screen protectors from fleabay to cut down to size and see if it will reduce a bit of the glare on the screen. It is near impossible to see if the sun is on the wrong angle.
The bluetooth mic could be a bit better quality but the bluetooth as a whole pairs and works well, the navigation works well and is easy enough to use, the reverse camera is fantastic for hooking up the trailer, the sound from the radio and it's reception is good, DVD plays decent quality, iPod and usb both connect and play fine. Don't think anyone could ask for more for the price.

Havn't yet tried to tune am stations but will now give it a go. My steering controls all work fine after tuning them in via the teach section but the skip button doesn't work from the steering controls for the ipod mode but does for every thing else, not realy a problem though coz skip is a large button on touch screen.
Glare is pretty bad at times so might try one of those antiglare thingys when I get around to it.
One problem I have is when ejecting cd or dvd it fouls on the top plastic lip above cd slot and I have to physically push the plastic up a bit to allow the disc to come out. I'm thinking when I install the reverse cam I might be able to lower the whole unit a fraction on the mounting bolts incase there is abit of force downward on that top lip if that makes sense?
Aside from that all still works well and still happy!

Which version do you have, I have the later version (7" no tv). On mine if you got To the second page of the radio menu (button bottom right hand side). There is a button for key pad then just enter the frequencyLast edited by rabs; 01-10-2012, 08:36 AM.2013 GXL Prado KDJ150R

Hi Guys
Posted this elsewhere on the forum & was pointed here by Muz (thanks).
I've bought :
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/7-Toyota-...item3f1bcbcd32
which is from a different seller but looks to be the 7" jobby from Autotunez.
GTS327 - for your AM radio suggest you check to make sure that the location setting is for Europe. It's in the settings menu on my model so I'm guessing it'll be similar. Europe uses 9kHz channel separation as we do. If your unit is set to, say America, you might have problems as the US uses a 10kHz separation.
But...I have a problem with the steering wheel controls trying to 'learn' the >>| button (the ^ on the steering wheel pad).
I'm unsure how other aftermarket head units work (maybe the following numbers don't mean anything) but on this one I enter the steering wheel learning mode & the first button is the Mode button which registers "16" when I press it. The next button is >>| and in pressing the ^ button on the wheel it goes straight back to the Mode command.
I've established that the ^ button also generates a "16" code, the same as the Mode button. All other buttons work fine. It appears that the Mode button and the ^ button on the steering wheel are outputting the same command, causing obvious confusion to the head unit.
I can't see that it is an issue with the head unit as it should record whatever button is pressed & I can't work out why the Mode & ^ buttons are sending the same signal. The Toyota standard head unit worked fine.
Does anyone have any ideas? I haven't contacted the seller yet & thought I'd post here first.
Cheers

Hi Craig, will try and have a squiz at mine as soon as I get a chance, Missus is out n about right now.
I remembered trying to tune in my steering controls and it was definately a weird way of doing it. Mines still not right as skip button doesn't work for ipod.
GTS327 will have a look at am stations at the same time, just been flat out with work and the missus steals the Prado through the week.
