The Pioneer rack though is fantastic
Perhaps I'm naive, never having had an aluminium tray, but 50cm overhang doesn't sound like a lot to me. Does it flex with the 30cm overhang and a load on front? Other manufacturers have 2200 (total length) racks in steel and aluminium to suit the 120. Obviously I would have the load balanced. I wouldn't chuck a sparewheel right at the front with that kind of overhang. The main reason I want the extra length (which bloke wouldn't) is for an Oztent RV-5 which is 2m plus small change. The 1928mm would probably be fine, but why not go longer if you can!?

Strange thing about this 42107B, is it's on their website, but I can't find a single place online that has it for sale. The only reason I am looking at it, is on the Rhino Rack site, when you punch the 120 in as your vehicle, the 42107B comes up as a compatible product when you browse platforms.

You can probably go for the longer platform as stated in the Rhino rack compatibility chart. Longer means that it will be heavier so if you don't need the length, then you can carry more.

I doubt the rack would flex with the 50cm overhang, depending on what, and how the load was distributed. I did carry my 2nd spare (37kg) at the front of my rack, using a Rhino wheel holder fitted directly next to the front cross brace as per manufacturer instructions. No problems whatsoever.

My comment was based on the possibility that someone may inadvertently mount a spare tyre directly on the 50cm overhang, but you have thought of this already.

The rack has several different mounting holes for the cross braces, to suit different vehicles. I would make sure the longer rack has the mounting holes in the right place, or you may need to drill several holes to make the cross braces fit.
Here for a good time, not a long time!
