Gday,
Can anyone who has a 120 comment whether their dual usb point they purchased and have installed has a background light on when the car ignition is on.
It appears from other comments the points for the 150 do have a blue light.
I've purchased one off ebay as well and if it does then I will purchase a switch so the point is not live when not in use.
Thanks

This is the Air On Board version for the 150. I haven't installed it yet, but just noticed there is a blue light within the USB sockets. Don't know why they put lights in at all. It does however have a cover so both ports/lights can be covered when not in use.

Thanks guys,
I reckon I'll buy another switch to minimise the power draw when it's not being used.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I see no reason why you can't be rid of the harness connector it comes with, and up the power for each USB output independently. As long as you fuse each one with say 2Amps, you should be fine. I haven't personally seen the cable though, so can't say for sure whether it's rated high enough?Diesel Prado with various things...

its not about the external wiring, there will be a DC-DC converter inside that converts the 12-14v of the car, down to 5v, and it is the current limit of this circuit that restricts it to 2.1A, but the fact they are wired as 2 individual outlets I would suspect they're 2.1A each, can you confirm this yet Andrew?Last edited by waltec; 20-03-2015, 09:06 PM.2003 Prado Grande TD Auto Pearl White

I have 2x Nexus 7 and a Motorola Moto G for testing. I used a Watt Meter to get the power readings on the 12V side. A Projecta IC700 charger was used as the power source. Its output is 13.74V.
If I only plug in 1 device to any of the ports on the charger, I get a reading of 8.3W (1.66A @ 5V).
If I plug in 2 devices, I get 16.7W (3.34A @ 5V)
I need to get an ipad now to check if one charging port can deliver 2.1A.Last edited by amts; 21-03-2015, 12:27 PM.

Conclusion: Each port is the same and is limited to 8.3W or 1.66A each.
Next is to repeat the same test for the 150 version.
