Mine was $1800 for additional 3 years or 200,000km through Toyota (Swann).

I believe Toyota Extra Care is underwritten by Toyota not Swann, that is what my documentation states. Swann are usually dealer extended warranties...

Toyota's factory approved extended warranty insurance as of 1st Apr 2012 states the insurer is Aioi Nissay Dowa of ANDIA for short.

Got a quote from Toyota Adelaide for $1395 for 3 years / 150,000kms. As of 2015 I project to have done 145,000km. It doesn't state anywhere in the PDS about not covering injectors. Just confirming they are not classed as consumables? They don't have to be replaced at a certain number of km's?

NPT.......I was quoted by The Toyota dealer that I have been going to for years, $1500 for the Toyota extended warranty. 3 years/50,000
150,000 in total.

My new car warranty ran out Dec 2010, bought Toyota extra care extended warranty before it ran out. From memory the car had to have less the 75,000km on the clock and still covered by new car warranty, cost me $1800.00. Since then, Darwin Toyota have fixed an issue with the gearbox, replaced the starter motor, ummmmmm and some other things I can't think of which has saved me well over $3,000. The only thing they won't pay for is the clutch or other consumables, brake pads, tyres, batteries.
I have had no issue with Toyota Darwin, everything that I thought should have been covered, has been fixed at no cost to me. Only problem for me is it runs out at Christmas

hmmmm, my maths isn't very good this early in the morning, mine doesn't run out until Dec 2013, WOHOO. And Winniliss, before I handed over my cash for the extended warranty, I expressly asked about injectors (as I had already had them replaced under new car warranty) and they told me that yes, they were covered. Which was the whole reason for me being willing to fork out the cash.
So from my experience (and I know some dealers try and rip you off with warranty work) but I have found it to be well worth the money.

Cool. I have had my Prado since brand new (Sep 2009) and the only issued I have had (which I have yet to report) was when I removed the grill to install my bonnet protector one of the bolts on the grill was broken due to poor moulding.

I think living in a warmer climate helps in most cases (plastics more pliable, engine oil is a lot cleaner etc).

It is cheaper to buy extended warranty directly from Toyota, I got a discount (cannot remember why) $900.00 3 years, 150k. Injectors are included.

The dealer would only sell the "stealership" Harrier extended warranty for $1300 which had a maximum claim amount of $2000.00 with no limit on the amount of claims, coupled with "you must service here" clause. I have my VX serviced at a dealership else where.

Does Toyota only offer the extended warranty to the original owner? I bought my Kaka before the factory warranty was up but only got offered the dealer's extended warranty.

Yes to the original owner, (not sure if you can if the vehicle has been sold during the standard warranty).
As the original owner you can purchase the Extended warranty directly from Toyota before the standard warranty expires. The extended warranty can be transferred to a new owner if the vehicle is sold during the extended warranty period.

I have dealt with swann as a service provider before and there wasn't one good experience the whole time as most people did not know the details of the contract, in saying that I have Toyota extended warranty on my hilux (bought at 28000km 2.5 years old) and have found it a waste of time. My useless LSD was dismissed as no fault codes found in the rear diff, and UV damage on the headlights as the type of detergent I use to wash it ( the damage is only on the top half of the lights). I wouldn't waste you money especially if you want to modify it, use the money for that instead.

Just for the hell of it I asked Toyota the question of 2nd owners being eligible to purchase the factory extended warranty. They referred me back to the dealer network and very helpfully gave me the details of my local dealer, the very same one who flogged me their version instead LOL. Haven't had to use it so far fingers crossed!
