    Thanks for the response.

I'm doing a Simpson desert trip and trying to sort out tyres but struggling with the 6" rims and a decent tyre. If I go with the GXL rims they stick out the guards as I don't have flares.

I have seen 245/70-17" A/T L/T tyre fitted to the 6" rim which matches the 265/65-17" rolling diameter but the 245's are meant for minimum 6.5".

The 1/2" is possibly OK but worrying me in regards to running at 14-18psi in the sand?

Any have any experience with this????

I am confused as my 2004/5 GX (No flares) has 17 x 6 steel rims and I measured the offset at 50mm. 140mm to inside and 40mm to outside. 90mm is the centre = 50mm offset.

The comments above refer to a 15mm offset.

    What am I missing??

I am struggling to find some A/T L/T tyres for these narrow rims.
    Welcome to the forum!

You are correct, the 120 series GX/Standard 17x6 rims are a +50 offset. Check page 324 of your owners manual for the different track measurements, 1535mm for the 17x6 wheels and 1575mm for the 17x7.5 wheels. The 40mm difference is 20mm per wheel. ET30 + 20 = ET50

If this is correct, then the offset of the 17x6 GX/Standard steel rim is actually ET50.
*Where the owners manual refers to "tread" it actually means track. Must've lost something in translation

Are you taking measurements from the rim or the tyre's sidewall?

Their has been no change in offset between 2011 and 2012. Any offset between +25 and +15 should ok, u can lower but that will just push the wheel further out.

Hi guys, i'm a new member to prado point and have found it pretty beneficial!. I might have missed something but was wondering if a ROH "Trojan" rim 17x7.5 will fit on a 2012 GX prado? and or any other rims that would suit?

Not sure about the offset? I was told the "speedy grande" would not suit due to offset on new model 2012. If it was a 2011 then it would be a goer.

I am wanting to move up to a 265/65 A/T tyre for future towing capabilities and under body clearance other then the current standard 245/65 tyres.

Would ebay be the best place to sell the rims existing rims which are brand new?

Any help would be of benefit,

    Thanks Kane

Off set too much coupled with my 275 tyres they would stick out.
With the 265's they are right on the limit.

The term ET originates from the German word 'Einpresstiefe' which translates as 'insertion depth'.

    ET30 = positive 30 offset
