Camper trailer water filter

Hi all

I am thinking about a water filter to assist with cleaning water for drinking. My trailer has a 60 litre tank and I would like to add a filter.
Would it be best to just use a filter in line with the hose on filling? or is there any options to add one inside the trailer to filter it as it comes out of the tank? or both?

Looking for some adivce and in particular what other people have setup.

I've go to get one of these as well. Was going to get the one that clips onto the hose. I think BCF sell them.

We use a domestic type water filter cartridge (Same as "Pura Tap" etc) it's a single cartridge type and we use a combination particle/charcoal filter in it.

It's fitted between the tank and hand pump.

Not sure what you are willing to pay but I have a system from these guys installed at my house (tank water only) and I have noticed they do a system for caravans.

thanks all, I was thinking about one of those units from bunnings (similar to Pura Tap) and putting it between the tank and taps.

Keep the ideas coming.

Have put on an inline filter in between the tank and the pump on my camper trailer, I got the filter from BCF for $40 - $50. Assumming you have a 20 - 25mm filler hose on your tank, you couldnt put this one prior to the tank as it is suited for 12mm. Besides, if you did get one on to fit it would take you forever to fill up your tank. With mine it has slowed the hand pump up slightly, but it is a small price to pay, nothing worse than having to boil your water each time.

The flowjet ones have survived for a few years in central australian conditions, mainly to keep out the big bits from water pumps, etc.

Be selective of where you fill up and use a suitable potable hose & connection.

Unless you are running a chemical or heat treating purification system the cleansing value of "filtering" the harmful stuff out is questionable and predominantly a sales pitch. i.e. everytime there is a municiple water quality alert - it is always recommended to boil your water.
