that isnt a re-hashed article, it is a fictional story, the author wasnt even there. At least there is more photos than the original article.

thanks for clearing it up matt .as a matter of coincidence i bought and read that article yesterday. i was thinking that was your car but an old incarnation of it , it had me scratching my head . couldn't work out how the 150 could be so much better than a fettled 120 . i know nothing about the 150's but i thought the kakadu would have leather seats . i did wonder about the camper trailer dvd with grahame cahill in it that came with the mag ,thought it might have been cross marketing . well i won't need to buy overlander again. when are these mags going to do a test where the vehicles are the same so you can make a reasonable assesment , ie petrol auto with petrol auto , manual diesel with manual diesel and match the model specs don't put a bloody gx up against a kakadu its a bloody waste of paper .
03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

well what a load of tripe the article is, the photos published are some that we have not seen ( thanks to the photographer you know who you are), but the story is a load of shite, 100% not a kakadu (i rode in it) no KDSS, we did not stay over night at polblue, we did not go to gummi falls, we did go to stockton but not via anna bay, it was via lavis, it was a long day 15h as matt said, i went from newy to barrington, to stockton, to maitland and back to newcastle, shame to see a decent mag publish a bullshit article, my oldman always said, speak the truth and you cant go wrong, talk bullshit and you will get caught out, seems like the editorial company has been caught out. thats my 2 cents. cheers samo

I would be demanding a printed apology AND admission the article is a sham.

This page has the "excuse" http://forums.overlander.com.au/view...dd3c19c2db55bd

No matter how I look at it I got screwed, each to there own but after my subscription runs out I won't be wasting any more money on an EMG production.

Now looking to support anyone's effort to get an online mag up and running.

I subscribe to Pradopoint. It's free, I contribute to it, and I get a whole lot out of it. I still have less money in my pocket though.

Have not bought a 4wd mag for years, they have become too full of ads, and the stories they have are low on quality/quantity that I want..
Many media outlets re-use photos or footage of past stories, however they must be factual, and relate to the story. The fact that this mag has lied about certain things is poor form, It doesn't matter if this writer was or wasn't on the original trip, but it does matter if he is using wordings from another persons story, (something about copyright), and saying things that actually did not happen is unethical. Having been involved in the media for some years now (on the TV and DVD side), you do need to be open and honest.
