    Hi everyone,

I've been checking out the site on and off for a while now, so thought that I better join. I have a 2013 GXL diesel, stock standard, I've had it since new and cannot recommend then enough. Apart from being my daily use car, I use it to tow a pop top offroad van, and previously a camper trailer.

I'm currently fitting a second battery to run the engel in the back of the car.

    Cheers,
    Paul (Mirage)

    Newbie, saying "hello"

    Hi
Have regularly looked at the site, but never took the plunge before to join! Not being mechanical, I didn't think I would be able to contribute much.
But here I am. I live on the far south coast. I have owned a 3l turbo diesel year 2000 (265 000 km), since new. It's getting on now, and I have just upgraded to old man emu shockers. Mainly use the prado for towing whatever boat I happen to own at the time (fishing, diving, etc).
Fuel economy seems to have really deteriorated, recently, and so has the power. Taking it to a dyno tune centre next week - hopefully they can diagnose any issues.
Looking forward to engaging on the site.
    Cheers
    JonD

Model: Prado 3.4L V6, bought at 230,000km, now at 256,000km (with a bloody expensive service at 250,000km, replaced and rebuilt quite a bit, she feels all lovely and new now!)

    Year: 1997
    Colour: Black
    Accessories: Bull Bar, Roof Rack
Wishlist: Just about everything in the ARB/OME/TJM catalogues!

Discovered this website when I was shopping around for a car as a long overdue replacement to the poo brown Mazda 626 I used to get around in. The community here at PP seem great! (I've been lurking a while now). There's a lot of builds and trip reports here that have had me really inspired to get off the bitumen.

Mine is pretty much stock at the moment. Just fitted some OCAM Roof Racks tonight, and the bullbar went on about a month ago. Real proud so far as I've done it myself. I'm intending to build a set of rear drawers this weekend after a couple of weeks of drawing designs, building a cardboard model (seriously), and trawling PP for relevant threads. I'll be installing a water tank/12v water pump in a similar way to the Drifta drawers are designed. Really looking forward to getting these built and then heading out with them!

Looking forward to posting here more now I've finally worked up the courage to introduce myself! Cheers guys/gals!

Great website and great community that helped me pull the trigger on expanding my off-road hobby to modding my car. Greetings to you all from Suriname, the country north of Brazil and in between French Guiana and Guyana. A great country as a base for off road adventures in the Amazon rainforest, Amazonian savannahs and beyond. Our country has a lively offroad community and various challenging offroad rallies through the forests and savannahs.

After having driven a very offroad capable 1998 Prado RZ (Japan import) 3.4l V6 short wheel base, here is the car that I wish to convert to an Amazon Racer and long distance offroad tourer (https://postimg.org/image/bzeaxj545/).

Model: Prado 4.0L V6 TX limited (Japan import)
    Year: 2006
    Colour: Pearl white
Accessories: High flow muffler and cat installed in Japan. Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 265/70R17 on FJ Cruiser TRD PRO rims (17x7.0 with ET04 offset) from the US.
Wishlist: Dual battery setup, roof rack and roof tent, 1.5 - 2.0 inch lift and suspension upgrade; Snorkel; Side bars, (aluminum/custom) bull bar, underside protection.

Just started my build threat on the basis of this weekend's mods to increase the front wheel well clearance after rubbing issues when installing the wider new rims. Have a look in case this is an issue you are interested in: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-limited-Build.

    Afternoon folks,

Been reading PP on and off for a few years, finally decided to jump on board and say something as I'm researching some new suspension and a few other minor fixes (including side panel rattles - new clips on their way thank to advice from this site!)

2006 GXL Diesel Auto, 185k kms. Extra rattles installed after crossing the Gibb.

Welcome yogi. Have a good read regarding 120 injectors, that will be the thing that will let you down IF you don't keep an eye on your oil changes and oil pickup. Lots of very good info on this forum.
