But now have a nice shiny :

    2018 GXL 150 only 58K on clock
    Dusty bronze colour
Soon to have sheepskin front covers
    rest is Stock can be
new SP50 tint on all windows

ALL MODS on my wish list haha but definitely want to place 2nd battery and pre fuel filters in first and foremost ( and snorkel)

Cheers, see you all on the road

    Hi,
    I have recently upgraded from a KZJ95 TX to a KZJ120 GXL.
I haven’t modified the 120 other than replace consumables such as shockies, all fluids, bonnet strut, battery, wind shields, put a rear drawer in to carry tools and strapped the Engel in the back.
I love the diesel manual Prados ( I’ve owned them since 2006) but haven’t driven the big v6 autos.
PradoPoint is a great resource for a great car. See you out there!

Hi all, new member from the UK. Sadly not a Prado owner, however I have just bought a Hiace with a 2KD-FTV, and given the lack of dedicated resources for Hiaces I thought I would jump in here given the 1KD/2KD similarities and info crossover. Particularly Im trying to get my head around the EGR setup, and decide what if anything is the best thing to do to avoid carbon build up.

The van is my 2nd Toyota, having had an SW20 MR2 almost 20 years ago. Ive been running around in Hondas since then, but have also been helping my old man with his 70 and 80 series Land Cruisers for the last 15 years, so am pretty familiar with Toyota tech.

Model: UK Spec Hiace 300 (LWB) 120hp KLH12
    Year: 2009
    Colour: White
Accessories: 17" Hilux alloys (not yet fitted in photo).,
Wishlist: LSD, roof rack, towbar, anything necessary to keep intake manifold clean.

    Cheers!

Hi all Nice to be part of the forum
My Prado is actually getting built
its a 2021 VX Prado due early next year with some luck
Only add ons are a tow bar to tow as we do a fair bit of detecting and go bush
Up to now ive been a Pajero driver owning an nx Pajero
    But not anymore
I am concerned about the crazy change to 19Inch rims which limits tyre selection
but otherwise i look forward to getting lots of great ideas to set my Prado up for travels
    cheers

    Hey guys!

Just got a 2007 prado GXL petrol v6.

Never had a 4wd in the family growing up so I'm new to it all but damn I love the size and am worried about the fuel haha.

Car prices here are through the roof somehow due to covid.

Got this one for above $20k 170 000kms on the clock.

Nice and clean with a few body marks, but full service history.

No accessories except for a rhino rack backbone with 3 crossbars.

I lurked around here for ages before buying and will stick around for all the good advice.

    Calam.

    Hi, all,

Quick intro, I've been a member for quite a few years. Up until now just lurking, and enjoying reading many posts on all things Prado. It's amazing how much knowledge this group has, and I'd like to thank you for making this site possible.

Personally I always planned on replacing my 100 series for a Prado, but for some reason I could never do it. The 100 series which I've had since new in '03 has been totally bullet proof and the best vehicle I've ever had, but after 18 years it was time for something shiny and new.

What convinced me in the end was the updated 150kw 500nm motor, and to a lesser degree the tech upgrades that now come standard on the GX.

I ended up ordering the GX because I didn't want the factory side steps, roof rails, and 7 seats (prefer the extra cargo space) and the $ saved over the GXL pays to set it up with after market bars, lights, steps..etc

So yesterday, after waiting since March, I finally picked up my new 2021 GX LC Prado, Silver Pearl.

Totally stock apart from Factory Tow Bar, Factory Snorkel, and Rear Parking Sensors.

I've also just ordered TJM - Outback bull bar, sidesteps, and side bars.

Absolutely love it.. looking forward to putting it through it's paces and hoping that it's as trouble free as the 100.

    Cheers
    JM
