    • Hi All,
I'm Sam, probably one of the younger members on here. Just purchased a brand new 2013 GXL Prado, very happy with it so far and can't wait to transform it so it doesn't look like a soccer mums car anymore! Hopefully meet some other WA members along the way, and hopefully a few local to me in the south west. Looking forward to posting on here!

Any perth members dealt with Arb Mandurah store before?

        Hi Sam,

I have dealt with ARB Mandurah quite a few time, they have fitted bullbars, winch, snorkel, roofrack etc. to the Prado, I am happy with the quality of their work and products.

        Cheers,

        Phil.

        • G'day Everyone,

Quick introduction - my name is Brad and I bought a 2012 GX 2 weeks ago, first brand new car (but have driven plenty of 90, 120 and 150 series before for work).

2012 plated car brand new in August 2013 I hear you ask? Long story short - Thrifty WA ordered 100 Prados from Toyota WA on consignment to cater for the mining boom. When the boom started to slow they decided they didn't need that many anymore and Toyota WA was stuck with them! Hence they have been slowly trickling them out through the dealers, dropping the price as the rego comes up, so I picked up a Oct 2012 model brand new, 25km on the clock, $49,990 drive away, no more to pay . Only disadvantage is that the Toyota warranty starts from when the vehicle was registered so have lost 3 months already, but at that price I didn't think it was a deal breaker. Sure, it's white and only a GX, but is a step up from my previous vehicles.

The Prado is replacing my 2000 Holden Rodeo, which threw a rod out the side of the block (taking the starter motor with it) 4 weeks ago, so it was a quick changeover! The Rodeo was kitted out with snorkel, front and rear airlockers, long range tank, 2" lift etc and have been wrecking it myself (wrecker only offered me $350 for it complete). No plans for the Prado to be kitted out that extreme as yet. Have the roof racks, seat covers and TJM side steps to fit this weekend, and ARB bullbar and towbar being fitted next week. After that it just fitting the UHF & HF, maybe replacing the speakers and fitting reversing sensors. Oh, and fitting decent rubber to it as well! We've just started a family, so more serious mods such as suspension will have to wait until the kid(s) are older.

          Cheers,
          Brad

              • Hi Guys

I have been lurking on this forum as a guest for a while now, and after much reading, I have deciced to buy a Prado for the missus. I have only ever owned Toyotas, I started with a 92 Corolla, then a 03 Hilux. After a heap of company cars (all Hiluxes), I am now in a 2013 SR5.

In 2007, the wife insisted on upgrading her 94 Corolla to a Mitsubishi 380 when we had our 1st child, and while its been a terrific car, Its time to have 2 x New Toyotas in the driveway!

With Child number 3 on the way, This morning I have just ordered a 2013 Prado Altitude in Pearl White. I was pretty happy with the deal we struck with the dealer, getting a fair trade in for the 380, and getting a fair few extras thown in with the Prado.

If am lucky, We should be able to pick it up on Saturday morning and have a play with it over the weekend.

Down the track I am looking at adding the following accessories:
1 ARB Deluxe Winch Bar - Colour Coded (Pearl White)
                2 GME TX3540 UHF
3 Spot lights or LED Bar
                4 Front Recovery Points
5 Flase Floor over the top of the 3rd row of seats
                6 Voltage Boosting Diode & Redarc SBI12
7 Aux Battery, Waeco CFX65 and Slide (I already have all of this)
8 Anderson Plug to the Rear for Camper Trailer
                9 ARB Under Vehicle Protection
                10 Safari Snorkel

Thats about is at this stage.... But I am sure there will be more!

I hope to be able to contibute to the forum, as I have certainly gained a lot of information out of it so far.

                      • Hi All,

I'm Joe - I am currently on the lookout to upgrade from a somewhat impractical Mazda Rx-8 to a much more practical Prado 120.

Why 120? I need the extra 8th seat (Large extended family road trips)

The plan is also to get a boat to hitch on the back which my current car just can't handle

So hopefully I find the right one as many of you have pointed out....they are out there...it's just none of you want to let a Prado go!!!

Anyway every car I have owned (Celica, WRX, Rx-8) has always had a great enthusiast crowd which I love as there is so much information available when things need repairing or fixing which I like to do myself - I'm pretty happy there is an equally enthusiastic crowd of Prado Owners!!

Hi Joe wise decision my friend we just upgraded from our Nissan X-trail 2010 to a Prado 120 series love the 8 seater option. We just purchased ours a couple of weeks ago. What model are you looking at getting in the 120 series? We ended up getting the GXL, best decision we could have ever made. Absolutely love it! Just keep a good eye on car sales I guess something good is bound to pop up.

                            Ty.

Yup not that far really from the Bridge either in the event Pog needs a sticker applied or a Prado cleaned/bush pinstriping removed following a trip.

                              Cheers

                              • Hello All,

I'm Ben, here in Melbourne, Victoria. Up til last week I was a driver of the 'other' brand (well, a Ford Maverick, but you get the idea!) but two days ago I stepped up to a 2002 Prado Grande. It's silver over silver, 3.4 petrol auto. SO far completely stock, but hoping to set it up for touring with the wife and kids.

Looking forward to showing the progress over the years!Click image for larger version
