Sorry, we are from Newcastle.Would love to meet other drivers and go on expeditions.

The car came with a tjm bullbar.
We have added;tow bar,2x recovery hooks, uniden uhf with rather large aerial,bf goodrich A/T's,pedders trak ryder suspension and 50mmm lift. Also got some other things like air compressor(works OK),jump starter pack, long nose shovel, stihl chainsaw, home made max trax, two handheld 2 watt uhf's,a snatch strap and a couple of other bits and pieces.

            Would desire;snorkel,roof rack/cage,spot lights,reverse camera,rear work light, dual battery(maybe)

Anyway Iam not sure if I even put this in the right section, will head to the 90 series section from now on.
Looking foward to sharing and gaining informationo with people, and hope to see yas around the track one day.

              Well.....
Not a Prado owner yet, but the order is in for one.
              08 model GXL T/D auto.
Only mod will be tow bar from factory,
However once the 80 has been sold I'll go about fitting a few things.

Main plans are for Bullbar - not sure what tpye, the GXL has the fog lights and would like to keep these. with mandatory spot lights. Lightforce 240 will get the nod for this, hopefully with HID in the future.
Snorkel - going the airtech model on this.
2" suspension lift, deciding between rancho, touh dog or boss shocks. I like the idea of adjustable shocks.
Cooper ST tyres. Would love to go to 33's but will most likely be 31s or 32s.
Replace side steps with proper sliders. Most likely custom make these so I can get them looking good.
UHF - GME remote face jobbie.
Polaris head deck - these look pretty cool and and want to be able to run ozi explore.
Various bash plates. may have to custom make a few of these
and Front and Rear diff locks. It's amazing the amount of damage you save by being able to slowly crawl over things instead of the old point and floor it approach.

Even though I am a cruiser man, I did give all the other 4by's a good look into and none really compare to the Prado for ability, ride and value for money.

Will take a while to get used to the new girl. And I'm going to miss my 80 which had all the above and a hell of alot more.
And I will no doubt come unstuck getting to know IFS, as opposed to a nice flex solid front end, But hopefully this will be a upgrade I wont regret. (even though I'll regert selling the old 4by :cry

My only real concern is how the the new beast will tow the camper across the Simpson.

                Welcome Chuckybear,
I see you have a lot of things to do when the new rig turns up. There are lots of posts already on the install of most of those things and the pros and cons also. I am sure you will learn heaps from others experiences and hopefully you can add to this and expand this wonderfull forum.

I am also sure that your vehicle will tow like a dream, and economically too. You will be amazed but happy with your new purchase.

Good to see a few new faces on the forum. Welcome to Chuckybear, Golly and Noorus, and anyone else who is new.

Plenty of info and we all love to see what you have done as well.

You may need to rethink the Camper across the Simpson idea there Chuckybear as there is a lot of talk about banning them due to the additional damage that they cause.

                    Hi guys n' gals,

Decided over the past few months that the Prado was the way to go. It looks great and it's a proven legend especially with it's heritage.

Recently moved to Brisneyland from Sydney and decided the best way to see/enjoy/explore our new home was from the driver's seat of this beauty. From a long line of TOYOTA owners including 'cruisers, corona's and twin cam 'rollas but I sold my lightly modded EFII Fairmont Ghia as it was getting long a bit long in the tooth and we are now driving the li'l ladies' '03 mirage... It's economical and I can drive but... ops:

Keeping my eye out for an '07 white, petrol, manual with factory bull-bar and I have enjoyed seeing some great pix and reading about experiences in this forum.

Thanks for having me and I look forward to sharing as soon as possible.

                    Cheers,

                    Benno.

Welcome Doobsy, you have done the first good thing by coming over the border and becoming a temporary Qlder. Permanent residence applies only when you wear a maroon jersey with pride.
Next move is the Prado, well what can I say another great choice.
Plenty of great country to see in the sunshine state especially with a Prado.
Welcome to the forum and add heaps of info if you know stuff.
