Haha nice to read this. Didn't expect to get a reply in dutch!!! What a small world..... Is your wife from the netherlands or belgium?

Anyway forgot to mention that I was on a holiday last december januari in aussie for 4 weeks. Travelled from sydney to cairns in a toyota camry. Travelled highway? #1. I really love the country. It's stunning. But if I ever go there again, and it will happen )!!, I'll rent a 4x4 wih a roof tent and travel from east to west for example. I really loved the "beach" scenery but would love to see the "red" outback!!

Ow and also the aussies are really friendly people!! When thinking about my trip, I get a smile upon my face.

Plans r to go there many more times

Lakes, just remember that when you do come back to let us know and I am sure that the folks on Pradopoint will be happy to organise some trips to show you around.

          Cheers

            G'day all,

Ive been an occassional lurker to this site for quite a while now. Dont know why I never subscribed earlier. But anyway, Unfortunately for you guys, I dont own a Prado but a current shape Hilux. Maybe some of you here might have seen my rig on a couple of other forums....maybe not.

Anyway, since the Hilux and Prado share quite a few characteristics I thought Id join so we may both learn off each other.

            So, heres me rig-

07 Hilux SR Dual D4DE, auto (should have got the manual) Damn you Prado owners with the 5 speed auto, I wish

3 inch lift, Fox Foam cell shocks, dobinson coils up front, reset factory leaves on rear. Snake racing 1 inch lift block,

this rear setup will stay until it wears abit and sags, then Ill get a custom 3 inch leaf pack made up.

Extended rear snake racing braided brake lines,

Colour coded flares and grille, ARB Bar and side rails/steps, snorkel, SR5 sport bar powder coated black, tubliner, Lightforce spottied,

16x8 Black Dynamic Wheels with a zero offset, 285/75x16 Silverstone Mud terrains, and a little bit of trimming.

3 inch dump pipe and straight through 3 inch exhaust no mufflers....sounds bloody awesome under load and you can barely hear it when cruising on the highway.

            Future mods-

Id love to get front and rear locked, change diff ratios from 3.73 to 4.5:1, bit more armour below like a fuel tank skid plate and Lower Control Arms skid plates. Might modify the towbar to incorporate lower quarter panel protectors and a small step. ARB rear step hangs too low.

Bit more trimming and 35/10.5x16 Silverstone extremes.

Thats the plan, I know it can be done with a 3 inch lift, just moneys the be all and end all.

Glad to be onboard, look forward to chatting with you all.

Look forward to perhaps a day trip somewhere in S.A when I arrive

Good job that Adelaide has a free wireless intenet network in the CBD area. So you can take your PDA or Laptop and get your fill of PP anytime without the wife knowing.

If you spend too much time here, you will spend too much money on your Prado thanks to all the mods that need to be done. Let my wife Lacey convince your wife to buy one, she has these strange powers for convincing others   Just Do It and tell her later
