hello,
Chris here, with wife Rinai.
We are new to Prado's having just recently upgraded our 1st 4wd.... a 1985 Suzuki Sierra Hardtop ( with mods )! the Prado is a stock standard white... surprise surprise... 2010 150 Petrol ( couldn't stretch the budget to a diesel plus ours only has 87k on the clock ). so far we are stoked with it, even the fuel consumption isn't that bad ( was a little worried but it really isn't that bad plus but having owned a few turbo Subarus we are used to 12-14L per 100 ). future plans are the usual front bar ( ARB ), lights ( waiting in the shed ), maybe a small lift, tow bar and eventually bigger better tyres. immediate plans are floor mats and rear cargo mat. anyways, wont be posting much but will be reading heaps
cheers
Chris

Hi all!
Another new member here!
Just purchased my first Prado and in fact my first 4x4 ever! I have always been a Jap/RWD/Turbocharged kinda guy back home in the UK and used to work as a tuner at a well known UK based Toyota Specialist but since moving here I found out there are much better toys
Great forum here and a wealth of info for new-comers like myself!
Real name is Ross, 27, Married + 2 boys (and one on the way!) Looking forward to meeting some of you soon

It is perfectly normal Gaz, ignore the wife like the rest of us.
I'd love to do the CSR sometime in the next couple of years.
I think I'll be going to get dirty again next weekend. Getting new tyres on next Friday and they just need to be tested 😬 the wife will be away for a week and that's totally not why I'm getting the tyres on while she's away haha 😇

OOOPS... Sorry guys have been posting for a little while and have only just seen this thread and thought I'd better introduce myself properly.
Hi my names Gary and I'm a Prado Pointaholic. I find myself jumping on the computer and checking all the posts like EVERY day and the missus is starting to wonder..... Is this normal???
Any way, I've been travelling this beautiful state of mine (WA) for the last 20 something years and live and breathe camping fishing and fourwheel driving. And this site suits me too a tee.
For the last 15 years I owned a 4.2 diesel GQ Nissan Patrol and before kids an old hilux well body with canopy. Now however, I own a 2013 V6 GXL Prado; the most refined, quiet, powerfull and capable 4wd I've ever driven.
I've spent the last year gleaning pearls of wisdom from old posts and asking the odd question to be able to deck out my rig with a minumum of fuss.
So a big thankyou to everyone out there and I'll see you on the tracks....
Maybe a GTG in WA on the Canning could be on the cards in the future?
Cheers Gaz

Hi
I may have been a member previously when I lived in Australia, but as I am now living in Canada my email has changed
My wife and I took a 2005 diesel 120 half way around Oz (Sydney, Wilpena Pound, the Centre, Darwin, the Gulf, Cooktown, back down the coast to Sydney) in 2005 towing a Trak Shak camper trailer. We took it easy and explored thoroughly along the route - 18,000 kms in 102 days.
We moved to Canada in 2007 and have retired there.
We plan on coming back in March 2015 for 3 - 4 months to do Sydney - Melb. - Adel.- Perth - Darwin. We will be staying with friends and 'credit card camping', i.e. staying in cheap but OK accommodation along the way. We don't want to tow a trailer this time or camp if we don't want to.
I am looking to buy a good used Prado, hopefully one set up for long distance travel with a few toys (12v fridge, radio, bull bar, etc.)
I will be more active as the time approaches.
Cheers
