G'day all, only been here for a few weeks. I used to be on newhilux.net until now. Just traded my 2007 Hilux SR5 TD dualcab for my fathers clean and stock 2007 Prado GXL TD auto. Now has Cooper AT3's all round. Have immediate plans for an ARB deluxe bar, ARB OME suspension and ARB dual batt. Then there's the full radio fitout to follow. Will transfer most stuff from the Hilux to the Prado inc ARB compressor, Engel fridge, Lightforce HID's and on it goes. Will it ever end! Only had the 120 for 24hrs but loving it already. I think the 180lts of fuel capacity of these is a real bonus. I like the way the auto trans works but I miss the full trip computer of the SR5. But the ride of the 120 is very nice. I had an ARB OME suspension in the 'Lux, but the stock 120 suspension is very nice thus far. Plus the 120 having a tighter turning circle and being a bit shorter is a nice bonus.
I'm particularly interested in the Rig Buildup section here - great work!!

G'day Nik and welcome aboard! Sounds like you've already got a great list of mods lined up for your new chariot! When you get a chance, put your location up in your profile (settings / edit profile / additional information / location). This will enable other members when responding to your posts to know what part of this tiny planet your on. Not unlike newhilux.net, there scores of information available on just about anything. Google is your friend (subject + pradopoint.com), and is the easiest way to find an answer or thread. Also have a good read of the forum rules before posting as there are some good tips there also... Enjoy!!!!

I have been surfing this forum for a year now and have just found the intro page, so here goes:
Have been a subaru owner for many years and when needing a bigger ride decided on a prado. Havent looked back since.
I have a 2006 TD manual, which came with a sovereign bullbar when i bought it
Since added lots of stuff including;
Safari snorkel, OME 2" lift, TJM bash plates, ironman 9500 winch, Dual batt system with SBi12 and couple of outlets in the back, 60ltre ARB fridge & slide, home made drawers ( thanks to PP for all the info), home made table (thanks again to PP), Hella 4000 spotties, UHF, Tinted windows, ARB alloy roof cage - awesome bit of gear! ,
Recently added BFG AT 275/65/17 - very impressed!
I have done all mods myself except the snorkel as i couldnt bring myself to take to the panel with a bloody big hole saw. The mrs asked when i was installing a bed because i spend more time with the car than her ( sometimes this suits her though)
I have also spent a small fortune on recovery gear incl snatch straps , winch extension, snatch block, shackles, maxtrax, exhaust jack and I am using the trusty old shovel from the shed. I have now used the winch a few times and am glad i forked out for it. It has saved hrs of digging etc.
I live in jindabyne NSW near Vic border and have done a few trips into vic high country, stockton beach, Land cruiser mtn park (great place) and am planning a trip to adelaide via flinders ranges next easter. Hope to do simpson dessert next sept school holidays as well.
I have 2 tin lids ( 5 and 2), who both love 4wdriving - especially some of the deeper water crossing down near geehi.

I finally took delivery of my baby yesterday after 6 months of dreaming and planning. Can't wait to start the mods and hit the tracks.
