      • Hi all,

        My name is Brett.

I come from a long line of Prado drivers with me be the last in the family to finally acquire one.

I have purchased a Silver GXL 150 Auto and hope to make up for some lost ground (When it finally arrives)

You see my younger brother has a 150 Series GXL Petrol, my other brother has a 150 Petrol GXL Petrol and a 200 series GXL Landcruiser Diesel . The father presently owns 2 also (a 90 series GXL and 120 Series)both previously belonging to each of my 2 brother and my uncle has a 150 Series Kakadu.

Quite funny when I bought one as no test drive was required?

Anyway I hope to add to my car slowly and ultimately plan to do a large trip around Australia with the family.

Tough decision when I purchased my vehicle (Petrol or Diesel) and ended up choosing Petrol only because it was a little cheaper and presently do more City stuff the country driving.

I may look at the diesel when my lease expires particularily if they upgrade the power of the diesel. If they can put the engine of the cruiser in the Prado I would certainly have bought a diesel.

All the best and I hope to contribute to this forum as I become more knowledgeable.

        Brett

        • Welcome bdee (Brett)

We're newer to PP too. We have a 120 Series and love it to bits. DH not too sure about the 150s because they seem very much like the 200 Series Landcruiser inside. I guess I will get to find out at the GTG (as is the plan) at the very latest or the next time one comes into his work.

Nothing wrong with the 120 series in fact I prefer the shape. I ended up getting a 150 series because I got it via lease and the cost of the 120 series was so high and not a substantial enough saving over the new one.

I too will aim for the GTG but a little difficult at the moment as my car still at the handshake status and no planned production date yet.

If this keeps going I may car may be 2013 compliance plated?

            • Hi Everyone,

My name's Frank. I'm not a Prado owner (unfortunately).

I just signed up to the Prado Point forum to better understand the issues people are having with the 150 Series mud flaps as I have a vested interest.

Just wanted to say a quick "Hi" as well.

              Cheers,

              Frank.

              • Hi, everyone.
My name is Sarmad & I'm from Pakistan.

New to the Point & relatively new to Prados too. Bought my 1996 90series RX last October off a friend who had only driven it 15,000 kms in 6 years. He had imported it from Japan so I knew how well it had been kept. I, in the 6 months have driven 6,500kms already
                Its a diesel with a 1KZ-TE.

Had been looking for a dedicated Prado place and found this. Hope to learn from here and share things the way we do 'em.

                • G'day folks, great forum you guys have here.
I'm James and i live in Pelican Waters on the Sunshine Coast.
I've just picked up a D4D Altitude which is my first 4be in a few years. It's very stock still atm but will be getting some bits & pieces done to it starting with a HID conversion, "Chip it" chip, hi flow cat & straight through muffler in a week or so. After that an ARB bar, spotties & new suspension will be next & will probably be about all i do to it and will suit my needs pretty well.

Anyway i'm off to have an explore if the forum, catch you you guys out there sometime.

                  • Hi PP'ers
My name is Rob, from Wollongong I just recently became responsible for a 120 series turbo diesel.
Been lurking for awhile and decided I should probably join up.

                    Anyhow this is my wagon

                    Snorkel
All pretty standard basic stuff. Plan on going camping with it. Have some future mods planned for it. All the usual stuff that make these vehicles the best and most logical choice for an all rounder available.

Anyways I'm off to learn some more.

                    • Hi all,

                      We are Keith and Penny from Karratha WA. I was introduced to Prado's as the company vehicle of choice for this area when I started 6 yrs ago. We have previously enjoyed owning a LC 100 series wagon and thought it was time for an upgrade. So through salary sacrifcing we are now the proud new owners of;

Model: 150 Prado GXL Auto Diesel (cos we got sick of waiting over 9mths for a manual)
                      Year:2012
                      Colour: Silver
Accessories: Roof Bars, ARB twin cargo drawers, factory alloy bullbar, side steps, tow bar and the trusty 20yr old engel.
Wishlist: As the rest of the vehicle is pretty bare the wishlidt is waaaaayyyyy to big to put in here. However, some of the first things will be UHF/HF Radios, Side Awning, Dual Batteries, Cooper ST's and perhaps some pretty good mods that I have already seen on the forum.
2012 GXL Prado Silver | Basic Package so alot to work with, stay tuned for when my wallet starts to hit back.

                          • Hi all

New Prado owner having purchased a ZR two weeks ago. Kakadaz put me on to this forum and I have spent a number of hours lurking and learning. First mod has been ordered already, TJM bar which has been done earlier than anticipated after clocking a roo near Chinchilla. I'd call myself a novice 4x4er but didn't buy this for it to stay on the blacktop

                            cheers, Tim

                            • G'day everyone,

My name is Andrew and I come from Tassie. My wife and I just purchased and picked up 2012 Prado Altitude in Crystal Pearl. We decided on the Prado after researching an upgrade from the Toyota Kluger we previously owned and we have found it to be fantastic.

So far I have only changed the tyres for Mickey Thompson STZ's but I have plans to install a bullbar, suspension lift, roof racks and bash plates shortly. This site has held a wealth of information and advice in regards to what brand and style of the above to purchase.

                              Thanks for a great site.

                              Cheers,
                              Andrew
