      • Hi there all. Have been a visitor here for a few months now, and through it maybe time to become a member. Have had a few sports cars but got sick of the attention form the boys in blue. So my love of 4x4s started with a Subaru l series wagon, then onto a SWB Gq Patrol. With a growing family sadly had sell the patrol to get a 4 door bus. Along come the Prado (Playdoh). The best thing I love about the Prado is changing people's perception about Prado's. They are much more capable then most people think. Fantastic web site, very informative, with lots of great ideas. Keep up the good work. Kris

        • Hi,

Just a short introduction from another newby here. I have been watching the site for some time, mainly to get information to assist me in deciding which vehicle will be my new purchase. I sold the petrol NM Pajero and have recently purchased a 2004 VX Diesel with 80,000km on the clock. At purchase it came with a Sovereign Bullbar and a Toyota Tow Bar but that was it. Since then I have installed a Piranha Dual Battery Management System, Lightforce Driving Lights, TX4000 UHF, Windcheater Roof Rack, Engel and Black Widow Slide, Boab Water Tank, Bilstein Kings 2" lift & Outback Recovery Points. Yesterday I purchased a Winch Cradle for the Sovereign Bar and am working on what size winch will best fit into the cradle. Look forward to learning more about all that is available on PP.

          Cheers,
          Pagey

            • Well I must apologies as I've just discovered this thread. I've been lurking around since early jan and I am already enjoying the wealth of knowledge and great ideas on this forum. I'm hooked already. Currently driving a 150 d4d auto and an aurion presara but have had many toyotas from supras to saharas. Looking forward to some Qld outings and meeting some of the gang.

                • Hi all.
My name is Braydon. I have recently sold my 2008 ST Patrol wagon (loved that truck, but truck is the correct word) as I now have a company vehicle....a Mitsi Triton....yuck! Anyway, my wife wouldn't drive the patrol, reckons it was too big, so we sold it rather than her car. We are now missing having a vehicle to go camping in (refuse to drive the Triton if I can help it) and will be selling the wifes Mazda 6 and getting a Prado as her daily drive, and our weekend warrior.
We have done a fair bit of 4wding in the past, mainly just weekends away, and topped off by a trip up to Cape York in 2010, so want something capable, and not a soft roader.

Currently in the market for a 2008 GXL D4D. Have only been looking a week, but we are in Gladstone at the moment, so finiding the pickings rather slim. Want a low km version, hopefully under 80,000 clicks, so if you know of anyone that might be trading up to a 150 and wants a decent deal on their 120, then give me a hoy.

Once we get the new truck, I will be putting a winch bar, dual batteries, 2 inch lift, UHF and all terrains on it which will be pretty much all we need to do what we do. Really looking forward to getting into one of these fantastic vehicles.

And top job on this site. Great resource, and I will be sure adding to it in the near future.

                  Cheers,

                  Braydo

                  • Welcome Braydo. I first came into Prado ownership in much the same way as yourself after having to sell my much loved 80 series. Your wife will enjoy driving the Prado, I know mine does. Happy wife, happy life as they say! Good luck with your search for a vehicle.

                    • Hey guys,
New to the forum. Had the 120 prado for about seven months now and still enjoy getting in it every time!
Im currently living in Dubai, joined the site as it seemed like a friendly place and there is sod all local to me with anything Prado related!

Only mods so far are a chinese knock-off touchscreen head unit/rear screens/reversing camera job.
Lots of plans in my head, but putting them into practice out here are a little complicated as most people own full size LC's or Nissan Patrol's out here, so the parts network is limited and the internet is not as advanced as back home or in AUS so there is lots of pavement bashing required to obtain parts.

Will get some pictures of the old girl up when I have a chance. Looking forward to picking your brains on some plans I have!

                        • Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself, just bought an 08 GX, diesel auto. White, It has the Toyota alloy bar. Apart from that it's stock. Pick up late this week. Coming out of a navara d22 with all the usual goodies. First mods will be lift kit, second battery, snorkel, cargo barrier, roof racks and some decent rubber.oh it needs a tow bar too, something that will allow the camper to be hooked up and hopefully allow the rear door to open.
Anyway, heaps of good threads on here, look forward to reading through them!

                          Heath.
                          Regards, Heath.

                            • Hi All,

My first post so be gentle ok? Love the forum, learning lots and I really appreciate the detail that some members go to. I have a one week old 150 Series 2012 D4D Manual GXL. So far I have added Cooper AT3's, Wetseat covers to the front, Whispbar low level rails to OEM bars. I want to add a lot more but my partner keeps relocating the "expendable income" when I enter a 4WD shop!!

My wishlist includes: Smartbar, Winch, Redarc Charger with Dual D27 Optima Yellow Tops, Redarc 1000W Inverter, Suspension stiffening without height increase, GME UHF80, ARB Compressor with 5Lt tank (somewhere??), Focal Speakers, Alpine Amp, Cargo Barrier.

My hobby is scuba diving as the name suggests. This includes all kinds of fresh and salt water diving which takes me to some fantastic parts of Australia and overseas. The Prado is primarily a company vehicle with an innate ability to get me to where I want to go 8-)

                              Cheers,
                              Graeme
