Thanks guys for the feedback. The local dealer has the 9500 competition with rope on sale for $820 fitted, including a small recovery kit worth $100. Tempting offer as it certainly has a good warranty!

If anyone else is looking, the Ridge Ryder one from super cheap auto is on sale this weekend for $425. 9500lb and cable instead of rope but its pretty cheap. No idea how the warranty compares to runva though.

We sell Runva winches and they have been very popular and so far have gained a good reputation.

Runva are a winch specific manufacturer (not a re-badge) and at the moment have the best warranty of any winch on the Australian market.

The 11XP is the pick for value for money at the moment in the 12 volt electric range. They used to be $300 more but Runva dropped the price and they have become the most popular seller.

At the moment there is a limited edition black version too.

Great timing for this post Mick, I am close to making a decision on the winch I want to fit early in the new year. Still trying to make the final decision between a runva winch and tjm. Runva seem better value for money though.
Would be keen to know how you get on with the install as I have been quoted 3 hours for the install of a runva as have been told they need to fully remove my tjm T13 bar?

Hey Matt don't listen to them. We were able to install our Tigerz11 winch on our T13 bar just by removing the grille. There is enough room to drop the winch in from above if you sit it on it's end and then slide it in. Time wise it still took some time as we had never done it before and we ran into a few issues (bolts too short, etc).

Wiring up the control box and mounting it I had done professionally as I was at the 4x4 store for some other work and it was just easier. They at first said they would need to remove the bar for that too till I put them straight re the grill entry method.

Having said all that 3 hours sounds about right to get everything done though, especially if they are nice and tidy with the cables. I'll leave it for some seasoned installers to comment if they can do it any faster.

Matt I don't know about the TJM bar, but on my ARB bar I installed the Runva winch with a mate and it was easy . Spent more time with the isolation switch I used a TJM one and works fine.

If anyone's interested, the Runva 11XP fits fine in the 120 factory alloy bar (with the winch bracket of course). Just make sure you turn the gearbox so the engage lever is in an appropriate spot. I have to open the bonnet to get to my lever from above the bullbar, but I have to open the bonnet anyway to turn on the power via the isolator (tigerz twist jobby).

I've never had to do a full on loaded up recovery on it (just easy sand jobs), but I have used it to pull out stumps (or attempt to) in the backyard and it pretty comfortably dragged the prado across dry grass, single line pull, wheels locked, when the stump wouldn't budge. Made a bit of a mess of the lawn :s

The only disappointment I've had is the black paint on the solenoid cover has oxidised over the 9 or so months since I've had it, and doesn't look as great on the bullbar as in once did. Will be an easy job to respray it, which I'll do when I have it apart to wire up an in-cab switch in the near future.

can I ask where you got the bracket from?
I have been looking at different bars so I can fit a winch but if I can leave the current factory alloy bar in place this will save heaps of $$$
