I would recommend talking with your local Toyota dealership to seek advise .....just tell don't tell them where your storing it...been a few getting stolen of late.

I garaged mine for 6 months whilst away in Germany.

As long as the car is garaged I wouldn't worry about filling the tank.

Just disconnect the battery or better still leave it on a trickle charger.

Also check the service interval if under warranty, generally they still insist
the car be serviced as per the service schedule even if your not in the country!

        Cheers

Another thing to consider is getting it off the ground on stands - 4 months is a while to have tyres not rotating, and could be left with some flat spots afterwards.

Just put it on some stands and disconnect the battery, unless you can trust someone with the keys to run the vehicle for an hour each week to charge up the battery. Alternitively, if your only going to be away for up to 4 weeks, you do not need to do any of the above, just store it, and make sure that you notify your insurance.

I wouldn't bother with putting it on stands. Yes, the tyres will likely flat spot a little, but this will go away in a km or so. You could put some extra air in to minimise the flat spotting.

Trickle charger on the battery is a good idea. Be good to have fresh fuel in the tank and fresh oil in the motor before it has its holiday.

4 months is not long, and its not like it will be in freezing conditions.

Original post did not say anything about 4 months, or any timeframe he will be away.

the title implies 4 months though... unless of course the number '4' is being used as a replacement for 'for'.

Thats how i'm reading it, (4 is replacing for), cause then it should be for 4 months.
