Seems like its just the guy I was talking to that wont be getting any more for a while.

Does anyone know of anyone in Sydney that actually carries them in stock?
I cant find anyone and I only know of one place that has the Avenger 9500 in stock but they are $1100 and the Tigerz 12000 is way cheaper at $845 but no one stocks them..

Anyone know anything about these ?

I would double check the size on those - the motor looks a lot longer than most winches.

ive got a tigerz 11 12000lber . works fine only used it twice , didn't get hot . if you are ordering it from a certain 4x4 shop at taren pt . order it somewhere else . it took weeks to get it in through them and he neglected to ring me when it came in so i went away for christmas without it only to find he had it in the shop 2 days before i left . and he didn't order the offset hawse that would have been free if ordered at point of sale. that cost me an extra $60 from the distributor .but it arrived the next day from melbourne .

So can we talk about winches again please instead of MLC's failures

Believe what you will. I wasn't JUST referring to this unfortunate event and was trying to give a balanced opinion. I don't see any pictures to support this malicious attack on my exemplary driving skills.

The other pics you requested will be up Saturday afternoon when the rig goes on the hoist.

            I made it this far!!!!!

and MLC made it this far!!!!

And that pic was taken from the spot I made it too.

So back on topic, the 12000lb Tigerz pulled me over the last bit with a single line pull easy as, and MLC's Warn was barely able to pull him far enough to get the trailer straight so he could reverse down and take the easy track, once we backed Micheals Prado down the hill far enough that MLC's cable would reach my winch extension strap, crikey it was a long way down

            Cheers Andrew

Wrong, the only time the brake gets warm is when you power out for long periods, which you typically do not do as a winch is not a hoist.

What about if you winch yourself down a hill will that do it?

Yes but vehicle winches are not designed for that

                      Hi guys

the new series of Tigerz winch allow for downhill winching as well.

Here is a quote I just found

"It has recently been overhauled to an upgraded brake system that allows you to winch out (backwards down the hill) and not heat up the drum, reducing the braking effect, like ALL the other winches out there. This heat is bad for winch ropes as it can detoriate the rope, this is now not a problem with the Tigerz11 winches.

The new features also allows it to be used as a lifting crane, So you can you make light work of that engine change, or anything else you can think of, It is faster and more powerful than anything in its price range as well as most of the WARN range"

If the Deputy Party Leader has one, it must be worthy of being included in your rig.

I am looking into the Runva Winch at the moment. For the price for the 12000lb jobby ($850), it would take me nearly three rooted winches to justify the price of the warn XD9500 winch. Warranty seems spot on, and the internet reviewers rate them. I contacted the head office and I'm waiting for a bit more info. If all goes well I will have one on the bus by mid December.

Anyone have experience with the XD9000?
Probably out of my price range but its supposed to be a "Premium" product (then again so is the M8000 according to their website).
Plus to put rope on, blows it out of the water price wise!
