Hi Dan heard today that she is a wright off.Rob from Telstra was giving my a hard time about the wright off.The good thing is that it was another Toyota that you hit.Lucky it wasn't a Nissan as we would have never herd the end to it.Hope that the insurance company looks after you and pay out what it is worth.Best of luck.

                Nah, not yet.
I found an 04 GLX with everything (ARB bar, Warne winch, Snorkel, Dual batteries, UHF and electric brakes) except a lift which is tempting (low k's). Also an 06 1KD GLX (nothing on it) for the same price and same k's. Now I'm trying to work out if the 1KD motor is better than the 1KZ with evrything.
Anyone care to offer an opinion?

I'd go the D4D over the old clunker anyday, plus with all the extra weight on it the 04 would be even slower than standard!

That said, it smostly kitted out and not much left for your to do, tempting...
                  Cheers

                    My Opinion..

I would rather the newer D4D motor and a clean slate to modify.

I would go the older one, and just chip it and put a new exhaust on, will work out cheaper

Exactly, and I have the new springs in the shed waiting for a home. With these on, I'm pretty much done.

Chip and exhaust on the 1KZ and you could be like joey! The injector issues on the early D4D's will always be on the back of your mind.
But I can't believe that anyone would be carrying that amount of gear on the standard suspension. I suspect that the suspension might have been swapped out before the sale.

I'd check the service history on the D4D and if the injectors have been changed to the newer type then all good. If not, I'd be looking elsewhere. Currrent pricing from Toyota to replace injector and pipe is $1000 per injector.

Thats why you go to a diesel specialist, would be 1/4 the price.

Maybe you can provide the names of diesel specialists that are replacing for D4D injector and pipe for $250 each.
