Earlier this year I was chasing a CTP green slip for the other car (Commodore). They asked the question along the lines of "can we help you with motor vehicle insurance for your other (Prado) car". So we went through the motions and I advised all my accessories I wanted listed. Well the girl nearly fell off her perch (and I have nothing compared to some here) and said they will only insure up to $5k for accessories for a daily driver. I told her (from Shannons) that I am currently insured with her parent company (AAMI) and they have no issue with what I listed. Go figure.......

But with the drawers, I believe most insurance companies say if it is attached to the vehicle, then it is insured.
If its an accident claim then obviously anything attached, hopefully is still attached for the assessor to see.
Its probably more likely in the case of a Vehicle being stolen, burnt, washed away in a flood or the subject of a Mythbuster experiment = BOOM!
Then you would want to have your accessories logged on your Policy.SOUTH AUSTRALIA GATEWAY TO THE OUTBACK!

Have a look at DGA they are a 4wd insurance broker through Allianz & will cover any accessory or mod (provided that it is legal ) any where in Australia, there are No exceptions.
I left AAMI because they don't have it in writing that you are covered off road, only verbally that Quote "I am sure that you would be covered" unquote.
Be very careful is my advice.
Cheers
