Jervis Bay is jam packed from Boxing Day (empty on Christmas Day) until the end of the scool holidays. But there's lots to do and it's a very very nice area. We've had a beach house in Vincentia since the mid 80's and gee it's changed a lot since then!

We spent a night at Potato Point over christmas a few years ago - Beachcomber Holiday Park I think. There was plenty of space between sites as the manager told us exactly where we could camp and so he seemed to make sure everyone had their space.

It was a nice spot on the beach with plenty of 'roos around.

would have to recommend pambula as a great spot, just south of merimbula, just far enough actually, some pretty good 4wd tracks in SE forest nat park and back along the road to cooma there's some good stuff as well. Eden is a little further south but also very nice. Good fishing off rthe wharf there
If going during school hols would suggest booking NOW as these places are chockers during this period. Also check out Bournda Nat Park. Great free camping with basic facilities right next to beach and lagoon.
            Cheers

we spent last night at Depot Beach, absolutely beautiful place and good amenities etc. Kangaroos in the campgrounds and birds sitting on our guy ropes! we would definately go back there again.

Don't think you can go wrong... just find a spot and stop. Only problem is... just about everyone else will be doing the same.

Not sure what it'd be like now, but we used to go to a place (About 15 years ago) called Coolendel. It's out the back of Nowra on the edge of the Yalwal State Forrest.

Used to be several nice big flat areas, some with amenities, with some smaller more "hidden" sites. Has a river running around it that's good for swimming. When they released water from the dam, there were some good rapids too. I'm sure there's probably Bass in the river too.
