Try lemon essence with half cup of bicarbonate of soda, leave for couple hours, drain and flush. Then fill up tanks. Works a treat.

Edit: meant to say add the lemon essence and bicarbonate with a full tank of water.

Check-out myswag.org it has a lot of info on this topic. Also make sure your lines aren't made of the wrong grade of plastic too.

Don't forget the obvious, don't fill the tank with ordinary garden hose!

Close call ntp. One would be forgiven if they attended a few counselling sessions after such a stressful ordeal. My thoughts are with you mate.

I have heard of people filling about 1/4 of the tank and using a whole packet of denture cleaning tablets...

Tried everything to fix mine and nothing worked, then got some tank clean from the caravan place and hey presto all fixed.

                      Cheers

Which probably contains Sodium Bi-Carbonate ?

I tried lemon juice, bicarb soda, milton and vinegar to try and get rid of the terrible taste, all to no affect. Eventually I traced it to the food grade hose I bought from Bunnings. I think it was impregnated with its own chlorine source so everytime you filled up the water got treated for you.

Not sure Rob, I shared it with a mate and he still has the bottle.

I tried Bi-carb but it did not work.
