So thats $436 - $510 for a set of 2 recovery points, i don't imagine Joe average is going to be knocking the door down to get a set at those prices. Don't get me wrong, I understand why they are that price, I think they will mainly be a company bought item to comply with OH&S.

$218 - $285 a pair.... Maybe. But I think that amount each is over the top. Yes I do appreciate the amount of R&D that goes into these however the cost to manufacture these items, I think will be a hard sell.

I believe the price quoted is for one recovery point.

To be honest I am kinda surprised that the Prado was not included in the vehicles selected for R&D. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am of the impression that the Prado is quite often purchased by mining companies for work on minesites. I thought that would have spurred on fleet demand.

Maybe if ARB stopped making so many accessories for the Hilux, like that fastback canopy they released, they could look at a few more Prado accessories.

Thats a shame. Cutting themselves out of a fair chunk of potential sales if that's the case. There seems to be a lot of ppl with non arb bars around.

It would however ensure that every mining vehicle is only fitted with an ARB bar to suit the new rated recovery points. And I would suspect that the mining industry would be a greater investment possibility than any personnal vehicle that they miss out on.

Business wise it makes sense.

Hi guys, I just wanted to set the record straight on this one.

Our range of rated recovery points is obviously still very new and has only been promoted on our website for a few weeks. Due to the cost involved in the vehicle specific engineering to get the recovery points and associated mounting systems officially rated, we will be monitoring customer response on a limited range before making the decision to expand it to further vehicles.

In terms of development for the Prado, despite what you may have heard, there is currently nothing in development, although, this may be re-addressed based on the response to the models that have been released.

At this stage, we have released recovery points for the Hilux (2005 on), BT50/Ranger (pre 2011), LandCruiser 70 Series (1999 on) and have a GU Patrol version in development. This initial range was chosen after significant fleet demand for points on these vehicles.

From an Australian pricing point of view, the current releases range from AUD$218.00 to AUD$255.00 per point depending on the vehicle.

Well there you go, thanks for the update Sam, seems ARB don't communicate well internally. Lots of different stories flying around from ARB staff we now see saying they were being made.
A real shame. If you price 2 recovery points close to $500, I feel you will price yourself out of the general market I feel.
The guys and girls on here will look for alternative solutions that are much more cost effective, such as Outback Ideas.
True they dont naturally fit up if you have an ARB bar ( which is only a percentage of the prado owners anyway) but I am sure people will work out other solutions.
Hopefully you can bring out the Prado 120 points and at a reasonable cost we all hope

If I look at it from a business perspective, Which is the only way they would look at it I suggest
1. They are more 120s on the road than 150s, so its a bigger market for them. Yes they also want 150's so they can been seen to be current with the 150s for mining etc. I would have expected prado would have come before BT50 for example
2. Pricing is relative, they will price them what they think they can get for them. If they are too high, other competitors like TJM, Outback Ideas etc will look at filling the gap and picking up a nice slice of the market.
Would I buy a ARB pair at $500 if I could get a competitors ones for $200. Not a chance but hey that's me.
It's just supply and demand.
3. Agree. Hopefully with people like Sam now on the forum, we can get a more consistent ARB story for people on pradopoint.

We're not the ARB target market. Most of the bash plates and recovery points are targeted at the mining and mining support industries.

Yes there definately is more but what vehicle is getting the most new stuff fitted to them currently.

I would bet that ARB/TJM ect are supplying more bullbars and gear for the 150 series than 120 now.

Also my 120 had recovery points built into the ARB bar, whereas my 150's bar does not have any.
