Why do you dislike facebook?

Had a young woman in one of my training sessions yesterday. Suddenly she left the class in tears. I've never had such an adverse reaction to my training like this before. Anyway, managed to track her down still all teary eyed. Seems her "ex" fiance decided to dump her via facebook. He changed her status to single and available and that's how she found out.

Apart from this forum, I like to talk to people face to face except where distance forces me to use the phone. I don't find the need to have people "like" me.

Myface... face space.... whatever that social network thing is where that dude saved time by not having to explain "its not you, its me" and then listen to her babble for 4 hours as she starts off crying , then starts hitting, then wants break up $ex.... you get the picture.....

Sunrise had a feature on Facebook this morning. They're going to offer a premium version where the user will pay. No wonder the creator is worth $100bn. Then they showed this sad sack who finally saw the light, de-listed himself from facebook and went out into the real world. He was lonely for a while and had nothing to do after work. And then he met similar people and developed real friendships.

It's bloody dangerous, especially for kids. I know someone who was bagging out their ex on Facebook not realizing it was being seen by the whole friend list but here's the kicker; it was being auto uploaded to one on the kids sporting clubs websites!!! How embarrassing. People just don't understand how it works and how potentially damaging it can be. Gotta go, need to update my Facebook status!!

It's like a lot of things, it comes down to how it's used. Young people in particular seem to succumb to the notion that their worth as a person is in direct proportion to the size of their friends list or the number of "likes" they get. Never could understand that side of it, must be a young persons thing.
