No it wasn't on the CV shaft it was the spline further along at the diff entrance no snap ring there. First up we thought it may of been a CV but there was no crunching or anything after, it was a clean break. With the vehicle raised the CV and shaft would turn when you turned the wheel by hand so we narrowed it down to the Diff or shaft entering the diff from the driver side front. A friend videoed it and with the volume up you can here it snap a sharp click at the top of the hill. I am the last car to go up on this clip. Can't complain 8 years of driving hard stuff all 4WD parks and this is my first breakage may have been a bit stressed from previous trips.

Great video Ron! That's pretty tough going on all of the vehicles. Do I see winch rollers but no hook or cable on your truck?

Yes there is a winch I usually hook the hook back on the bull bar so it is not protruding that is why you did not see it.
I did use it after the snatch did not work as I was stuck on a tree root with the transfer case bash plate firmly lodged into the root.
Even the winch did not pull it free until we winched it sideways and about 2 meters up a big gum tree with a tree trunk protector to pull it free of the root before any forward motion was gained. It was rather a strange feeling with the front of the car airborne and bouncing sideways each time I winched in until it finally pulled free of the root then swapped to another tree straight up the track with a winch extension strap as well to get over the hump. You don't use these things often but are grateful you carried them when you do need them.

We spent a day up at the Murchison Off-Road Adventure park near Kalbarri and had a fantastic day out. This sequence of pics destroyed two out of the three brackets holding my drivers side-step on It's definitely time to upgrade and get some rock sliders.

Breaking stuff is so much fun!

Yeah, it's a great toy to play with... It's a Contour Plus. A few suggestions - get a waterproof case, second battery and a couple of different mounts for it. I mainly use the Winscreen suction mount, Flat panel suction mount, but also have the mount for the bull bar.
