99% of drivers are morons, that's why!

Most of those are high impact - not 4wding - although the second image looks like it could possibly have been a roll over onto a rock

I reckon you'd be pretty safe with the spare though. Especially from the 120 or 150 with the hard covers. No damage to the hard cover so I'd be pretty confident the wheel inside hasn't seen anything bad.

The Toyota cargo barrier they showed me was nothing like the Milford barrier I have fitted now!

Now the 120, the barrier I have now is Milford but is identical to my mates toyota barrier ?? who knows. Probably both made in China anyway LOL....At the end of the day as long as they do there job which is obviously to keep the luggage where it belongs is the main thing......Cheers Steve.

Proper crash technique is what you blokes need. I've had more than my fair share over the years including rollovers in a Cortina, A Celica and army 110 Landrover. The Celica was a bewdy after going end over end 3 times and then rolling 6 times before coming to rest half way through a huge billboard advertising a Gold Coast wreckers. The Cortina rolled over after being clipped by a semi on Cunninghams Gap. I then plunged nearly 40 metres into the ravine below. All of these I walked away from with only a couple of bruised ribs and some scratches. Some were over in seconds and other prangs looked like they were going to take ages but in every one of them I was conciously waiting for the "big bang" that I knew was heading my way. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Hey guys. Read the concerns and as I said to the 2012 GTG committee last night, my interest would be the spare that should have avoided the ground contact shock of any impact.

                  Cheers anyway.

Hi all I brought a second spare from a wreacker i just asked that it be a mint rim with no big marks on it. When it turned up had less marks than my rims and it ran true when balancing so I have no worries in my opinion that the rim is as good as any of my own rims. If it had big marks or gutter scraps then I would be a little consurned on its strength

                      Steve,

I said a Milford barrier, but it is an Outback brand barrier, and it is made in Australia.

I have a 150 with airbags through to the back seats, and with the Toyota barrier there is a big gap either side at the top to allow for deployment of the bags. With the Outback barrier, it is the standard shape such as the Milford from my 80 series, which is probably what is in the 120's, therefore not much room for the airbags to deploy in a 150.

I have removed the rear seats for a drawer system, so I am not worried about rear air bags if they deploy, there wont be anyone sitting in the rear. Hopefully I won't be testing out that idea.

                      Dave.
