I bought the missus a new Corolla. 3 years old now and it doesn't have a straight panel on it. I don't care as this way she doesn't drive the Prado.

And that's why my prado is manual and she only has a auto licence. Plus she knows id loose my shit. Anyone got advice for telling her I spent almost $2000 at arb today? I bought her a little 'fourby' stuffed toy she has been driving that over her cats head haha. Maybe you could get yours misses one too and keep her distracted with it.2012 Suzuki jimny 50mm lift, 215/75/15 hankook muddies, 30 inch dual row light bar, gme UHF, arb compressor, rola roof rack, ironman awning, projecta dual battery system with yellow top optima, evakool fridge freezer and arb air locker this month!

Mine does. Last year she reversed into my mates car that was parked in the driveway (despite having a reverse camera, sensors and two big side mirrors. I tried to use that 'opportunity' to get a kaymar rear bar. She took it as an insult and wouldn't allow me to spend the extra bit of money.
Last week she drove up the back of someone. Apparently the car aqualplanes at 20kph. The only damage to the Prado was the bumper which needs replacement. Looks like i'll get my bullbar! I've also convinced her that the car would handle better if the suspension was upgraded. Bwahahahaaa.

Don't know what your talking about Roo? Men don't damage cars.Originally posted by Talktheroo View PostI bet you blokes have some accident stories to tell as well, ha. A very successful friend who married late in life always bought nice cars. AMGs, M series BMWs etc. as a wedding present he bought his wife (a very lovely lady) a C class. Which she bent. Regularly. Without care or concern. Shopping trolleys, posts, cars, houses. Anything was fair game. Mate was happy to keep getting it repaired but even he was getting concerned about the mounting costs. So they had a polite discussion. He still buys nice cars and gets something cheap and cheerful for her. She loves it, no stress about any little incidents and it runs and is reliable. Her car gets repaired if it isn't drivable and gets changed every two years. Everyone is happy. Oh and his wife doesn't get behind the wheel of the AMG.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Jeez - where to start? Mrs S backed the commodore throught the roller door - "I pushed the button so the door should have been open". Later backed the commodore down the side of a hiace - crash repairer thought she'd come off the road and through a fence. Drove the little Jazz into a 4wd in a multi story car park - "as I was avoiding the wall". Backed the 3 day old Prado into a sandwich board in front of the bakery - "well I couldn't see it and what a stupid place to put it". Drove Poor little Jazz over a large gutter in the dark and removed side skirt - couldn't think of a satisfactory excuse except the Prado would have done it ok. Now the proud owner of a Rav4 and I'm like a nervous father with the daughter on her first date - just waiting for the tears.
Mickmac: I ran the Prado into a Hiace (I wonder if the is a family significance there?) and can attest to aqua planning at 20kph :0 A T13 bar cost me about $100 more than replacing the plastic bar.
Cheers

Yep..... Reverse camera and reverse/work light. Probably would have been cheaper to buy them in the first place! Have to say I feel much better reversing with them.
