Just got back from Perisher (snow). Had a good run, steady flow of traffic all the way back, heaps of cops there and back, no issues. Had 3 on board, little luggage and sat at the posted speed limits so wasn't babying it just to get unrealistic fuel figures, 40 psi all round (standard grandtrecks) toyota alloy bullbar. First picture was prior to green light (second tank) coming on then second picture was when it come on. I was taking a picture every 10k after 700k till the tank changed over (always changes over when the needle is showing just under half) It worked out to 11.2 L per 100k !!!!! I reckon if I wasnt using cruise I could have cracked the 11's (fluctuates a lot)

Cant complain about that for a V6. Im not here bagging the D4D or 1KZ diesels or a holden, ford debate. It will never be as good as a D4D but just for anyone thinking on which motor to go for then this is just to show that driving steady, not booting here and there all the time but doing the speed limits you can do all right and if you just dont have the funds to buy the D4D which was my case when we went the petrol (and dont regret it). Obviously this would change running muddies or even say Bf A/T's, then if you have roof racks etc. Punching through the sand dunes will obviously be a big increase in usage over the diesel. Cheers Steve
