I thought driving on formed roads is a requirement in all national parks and state forests in OLD

I have just been thinking about that. The tracks through the Qld section of the Simpson desert national park are certainly not formed with camber and drainage, and there are no signs barring entry. Perhaps the definition needs looking at.

Not sure which Big Red you mean, but I did the famous Big Red along with three other Prados from the Eastern side. (and it wasn't a 'formed road' either)

At glasshouse there is a little and big red hill climb as opposed to the one out near Birdsville

Thinking of heading out for a play this weekend with some mates. Ive been a few times before but what entrances do people usually use? I went a few months ago and saw no evidence of cameras or signs etc. Has anyone been lately?
