Saw this on when aired on TV. The strap had a knot in it and it broke at that point andthat is what ended up hitting the back of the unmentionable 4WD.

They are not the best at showing safety when doing recoveries. Have a look where they stand when winching. Scary stuff.

Just watched a bit more and the in one shot the snatch strap is attached to the tow ball. What more can I say?
