  • Magazine subscriptions.

Sorry if this is done. I have searched for magazine but found nothing.

I am interested in what magazines people subscribe to that help in their 4WD/camping/holidays.

I am sure there will be the obvious subscriptions that people get for the “articles” not the “pictures”!!!

    Thank you.
    SOL.

Hoping one day that I can put back here, what I have borrowed.

4WD Action for me. Despite its pitfalls, I still reckon it is good value at $7 for a glossy mag and DVD.

        Hey Roo

I thought Nature was a "naturalist" magazine, are Northern Tree Funnel Webs (Hadronyche formidabills) and Macropods code words for rude bits

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

4WD Action for me. It started off as a freebie subscription with my winch purchase but I enjoy the read and the comparison articles help as a buying guide. I've since extended the subscription and got a free Hi-Lift jack from it.

The DVD's are a standout and worth the money. They're well produced and entertaining

Gee, that Funnel Web is as ugly as the Sydney Funnel Web we see regularly around locally!
Interesting creature really but scare the crap out of me. I work in Intensive Care and we have not had a death since the introduction of the antivenom. Our last bite that ended up in the unit was a 17 y.o. bloke who put a jumper on and was bitten on his back, was a sick young lad, very difficult to apply a compression bandage to that bite!!!

If you live on the Central Coast of NSW and you have seen Funnel Webs and are able to catch them safely the Australian Reptile Park at Somersby is always looking for specimens to milk for the antivenom programme. I have heard that they were very low on spiders and were at risk of not being able to supply enough venom to the CSL (Commonwealth Serum Laboratories)

Sorry to change the focus of the thread but those photos provided a really good opprtunity!
              Cheers

After being pestered for the past 2 months, 2 - 3 phone calls everyday trying to get me to buy some Ironman junk or Roo systems stuff that I just don't need in order to renew my subscription I have decided to dump 4WD Action. The trip reports were quite useful and inspiring but the biased reporting into tyres and sponsor's 4wd accessories was starting to wear a bit thin. And how much more can Roothy chop out of his FJ before it gets the yellow sticker that it rightly deserves and it gets put out to pasture.

4WD Action is the only one I subscribe to at moment, because I liked the deal with the compressor. Will most likely renew when they have another offer that interests me.
