A great Chritsmas with the family and to top it off I managed to cross off another three trips out of the Dirty Weekends book.
Just got back from Cambanoora Gorge and Condamine river tonight.

Ahh one of my favourite rocky climbs! Yes, it's very slippery climb in the wet... So, how did you go? Did you climb it?

I envy you!!! I camped in some of the highest locations we have here in Aus, to enjoy the cold mountain temperatures and for the hope of a rare snow storm... but we had very clear summer weather.

I drove from Sydney to VIC twice covering Kosciouszko, Pinnibar, Davies Plains, Omeo, Dargo, Talbotville, Blue Rag Range, Mt Hotham and more. All up totaling around 6 Murray River border crossings, 3,400 KM's and costing a new radiator.

Wow.. neg 32 to 20.. now that's cold!! In colder months here I've experienced neg 10 and that was tough enough... so maybe I'm not so envious now, haha. This time around, in summer, the lowest was around 0 degrees on Blue Rag Range. Quite comfortable

We went to the Victorian High Country with another Pradopointer (not sure of his forum name, known him via another recreation activity). Did King River, Craigs Hut, Howitt Hut, Miller Hut (Mount Wellington), Dargo, Talbotville, Mount Blue Rag (there on 29 December and saw a Pradopoint sticker on - I think - a 120), Omeo, Wombat, Taylors Crossing, Mount Gibbo, Mount Pinnibar and Tom Groggin.

Lost my rear front bash plate, had the back left shock absorber come free (the bush feel apart) coming down from Pinnibar. Had to use duct tape to fashion a bush. This held together for the 115 km back to Cooma yesterday where I got it replaced for $20 in under 20 minutes.

                        Great trip.

Did 1500km touring between the north, south and east of Tasmania. From lush green plains, to rock strewn tracks, to the hot sands on the coast. I think we covered everything Tassie has to offer to drive on at this time of year.

Went looking for areas big enough to hold a Pradopoint GTG. Found a few and some good tracks to get there and back again. Will do a couple of trip reports when I get the time.

Tomorrow is clean up day before heading to work on Monday.

Got to swear and scream at a traffic cop on NYE and got away with it but missed out on a great party. I woke up with slight discomfort in right kidney and went to doctor and by the time I got in I was screaming in agony. He told the missus to take me to hospital immediately and on the way the son who was driving gets pulled into an rbt lineup just 500 mtrs from the hospital. I could see they were just setting up because the cop didn't have the equipment with him and we were going to be there a while so I effed and swore blue murder at him all the while screaming in pure agony. He wouldn't let us go until the missus laid into him. He finally let us go and turned out it was a kidney stone. Great NYE that was.

                              Cheers Jim

I did a day trip to Fraser to drop the brother-in-law off at Eurong. Had Christmas with the in-laws and had to call the cops because one of them sold a dodgy car the day before and the customer was particularly unhappy with it (but hey, it's not Chriatmas till someone calls the cops). Then road tripped Brisbane to Sydney and back. Th oldest just started nippers so he wanted to meet the bondi rescue guys. Also did Taronga zoo with what I'm sure was the majority of the population of Sydney. Now I've had a week off building a fence and cleaning the shed and I've just sold my camper trailer so now I'm drooling over the arb catalogue deciding what to get first. Lift, bash plates and dual batteries looks like the winner at the moment. At least I get to go back to work Monday for a break.
