  • SWAGS oztrail? Went worth? Anyone have experience with oztrail swags

Anyone have one of these? Or any other oztrail?

Just noticed they read as pretty ok. For $149.00 or less.

I just picked up 2 to try out so I will let us know.

Got hem from Harris scarfe, so will take back if I'm not happy.

well done, seems like a good pick up...let us know as I am interested in one. Looks like they are supplied through tentworld. They should be ok, for me Ill use it mostly under the rollout awning, so I want a reasonably comfortable mattress (not some slim yoga mat) and the add says its a 5cm thick foam mattress...anyway, let us know what you think ####

I have two swags, both OzTrail. One is the Mitchell, the other is the Lachlan King.

Awesome swags, you will love them. Very comfortable.

I have heard many say they really like the Mitchell. On special at Bcf $199 sounds like a bargain.

I got/get my camping gear from www.campingmegastore.com.au, they are just around the corner from work, so easy, and their prices are great.
My Mitchell was $169.00 at the time and the Lachlan was $229.00

Wouldn't the bargain be why you bought the $50 cheaper one from Harris Scarfe! Ha ha you love it!

Got the Mitchell king single from the Camping Mega Store mentioned by MDSimpson. Been very happy with it and after 13 nights straight sleeping in it last year, including a couple of frosty nights, couple of warm nights and even a little rain one night, was amazed at how comfortable and enjoyable it was. Getting up for a pee in the middle of the night was always amusing.

I have an OzTrail Mitchell single and my brother has a Mitchell double and we are both really happy with them. The one you posted looks like a Mitchell with a few less poles.

I just got x2 loddon oztrail..from HS for $160 ea...
12oz canvas.....I got the loddon because it was a dead set copy of a more expensive 14oz job....going across the simpson in july...so I watered it for three days and the canvas stitching swelled and sealed nicely....im not a drover etc so cannot justify a $600 swag im only gunna use 2 times a year etc or as a ground sheet....

I just retired my old swag which had busted poles that I simply could not replace as they are obsolete with an Oztrail Lachlan King Swag. This swag is so versatile: I spend most of the time just lying on top using it as a matress. When it's cooler can set it up fully and it's warm as toast. For those in between nights you can roll the top right down and just have the mess above and with it's top and bottom windows there's plenty of ventilation. I've put he matress from my old swag on top of the new mattress. Nice and comfy and not too bulky.

That would be a super bargain, trying to get a good swag at the same time, those $99 do they have poles?

Anyway so far this is what I have found with oztrail wentworth, a 210cm long swag is 195cm long, mattress us 170cm long. So yes feet touch the end and kick the end pole/upright out. Not impressed OZTRAIL.
It does not set up neat like the pictures, it lays on you a bit.
There's not much to hold the top flap down in the wind if its raining, just 2 little velcros half way up each side and a 15cm piece in the middle at the top. It's needs a bit at the corners as well.
So yes it's pretty tight, and hot.
Ok stop laughing, there's no way im paying $400 for an Arb swag.

My other swag was luxury in comparison, (as long as you didn't set it up in 24hrs of persistent rain, but today I was shown the waterproofing gear at Bcf for $17.

I picked up one of these http://www.kulkyne.com/au/Kulkyne-Double-Swag.html and i'm pretty impressed with it, espesially for only about $250 to my door.
The single one is only about $170 i think.

                            Cheers
