My query with the Hillbilly is how you would fry anything in it?

I have one of those single burner butane powered stoves and you can whack a frypan on that for your eggs and bacon, they only cost ~$15 at Bunnings and a pack of cylinders is only $5 or $6.

Thanks for the suggestion mate. I do have one of those butane stove's, however I'm tired of having to heat the canister in winter to keep a constant hi heat for steak.

As it stands I use a butane stove and my Biji-barbi (http://www.biji-barbi.com.au/) as a fry-pan, works great in summer but in winter it only manages to stew the steak. So I thought the Hill Billy gas ring would work a treat under the Biji-barbi as the LPG isn't affected by the cold. But and there's always a but, it's quite costly for what is basically a modified gas ring. That said when combined with the Hill Billy camp oven and accessories, it may be a very versatile piece of kit.

I vote Everdure. I have one of these.

Bigger than the weber Q and cheaper. Aluminium shell. Weber don't seem to discount the weber Q.

Any problems with the plastic shelves Fronty? I was looking at it today in Bunnings but thought the shelves looked a bit flimsy.

            Fronty

I 2 have checked out the Everdure and there's another one called a E2GO or something like that, or my needs there too big.

But for a family, I think they would be the go for sure - their more like the Weber Q 200 in size.

I was so impressed with the baby Q, actually a 120 with the higher lid and temp gauge, that I replaced our home BBQ with the family weber (320?). It also works a treat to preheat some cast steel ready for weld repair!

We now only use our Weber Q for all outside cooking & BBQs.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm in Newcastle. Any reason why you haven't use it AT ALL?

This thread has surprised me, in that your the only person on here that has one. I expected the Weber to be popular but I thought there would be a few at least in the Hillbilly corner.

Maybe that speaks volumes for the Weber or its just an indication of how people prefer to cook.

There are a few hillbillies, just none with a BBQ.

it speaks volumes about the Weber Q. They are simply outstanding & have totally changed the way we cook with 'our BBQ'.

Another vote for the Q 120 , I run mine on the Coleman or gasmate 1/2 kg propane canisters that you can buy at any camping store or bunnings . Saves the space of a big gas bottle and you can safely keep a couple of them in the car without blowing your car to bits . Then just carry the cheap arse single burner jobs for any thing else . I've never cooked on any other setting than low .
03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

How did you adapt it to work with the disposable canisters Kav, sounds like a great idea.

we brought it when we got the camper trailer (which we sold 2yrs ago), but we only ever got to take the camper trailer to the van parks or we went racing so we either used the cooking facilities at the van parks and we take a full size BBQ & a spit when we go racing with a caravan behind the truck ( and the last 4 yrs we have raced 10 to 15 times a year which left little time to go camping)

so we never quite got around to using it, but pulled it out of the container last week and said to each other we should get it set up for the new prado adventures after i sort this car out with all the mods i am doing
