    CGEAR Multimat. Camping mat or floor.

    Has anyone used a CGEAR Multimat at all? Can you please provide feed back? What other item do you use for a floor when out and about?

    Yes, they are expensive but worth it. I also have an Oztrail Ultramesh, the Cgear is better.

      I have two. Not only is it great to walk on we push the trailer around on it. Larger one sits under the table and chairs and reaches to the front of our tent, while the smaller is in front of the boy's tent.

      Sand just falls through, even wet sand to a degree until it dries out. Well worth it. I haven't used it for a recovery yet but may happen so I always pack them within easy reach like the snatch straps and other recovery gear.

        I have two as well - one for under my black wolf turbo 240plus tent (4300x2400) and a smaller one (2400x1800) for under the tent awning that is also great on the beach for a picnic as the sand falls right through as advertised, and confirmed by mjrandom. Excellent for keeping the tent clean, provides an extra protective layer under the PVC tent floor, and no more sand in food on the beach! The material is very durable as well. Definately a worthwhile investment that should last a very long time.

          We've got one for under the Jayco awning, want to get another one for under the swags and awning on the Prado. This would have significantly reduced the amount of sand the kids seemed to bring to bed each night while on Fraser! Not cheap but strong as hell, originally designed to land choppers on in the desert..
          150 with stuff bolted on!

            I've got the Oztrail ultra mesh. Much cheaper, but still very happy with it.

                We have one (not sure of sizing now) but run it along the length of the camper and it sure keeps a lot of dirt and grime out of the camper and makes it easy to step out of the camper without any shoes on.

                Yes they are expensive but if you know the price of the size you are after you can pick them up cheeper at any of the shows going around. Picked ours up at Agfest (agriculture show).

                  I've got a proper cgear one and it definitely works the way they advertise. We use it camping up the beach and the sand really does just fall through. I didn't believe them about being able to punch pegs through and it not fraying but a while back I had to punch a peg through and the hole hasn't gotten any bigger. Expensive but definitely works well.

                    Shade cloth from bunnings does the same thing. Sure not as hard wearing (and you need double layers), but cheap!

                      I use them and like them. Use them under camper trailer tent, for flooring, for kids to sit/play on... anything.

                        Try using shade cloth in sand. The sand comes straight through it. Cgear mats were invented by US military as helipads in the desert. Sand passes one way only. (I have no connection with Cgear other than being a very happy customer.)
