So what would be a rough height for a lift in the front of the 120. I presume you measure from the bottom of the alloy rim to the wheel arch ?? I have 803mm on the rear and 805mm on the front this is measuring from lip on rim at the bottom straight up through the centre of wheel to the start of the wheel arch ??....Cheers Steve

The rear needs to be about 30mm higher than the front. 790mm at the front is about the benchmark for a 2" lift.

When the rears are the same as the fronts, it looks like the front is higher. You need a bit of rake for it to look 'normal'. Plus it helps when you load up the Prado for a trip, it doesn't drag it's butt around if it has some rake to start off with.

So Amts what would be your suggestion ?? I have heard that the front should always be lower then the rear on an IFS vehicle. It certainly looks like its up in the front, but he reckons that's ok ?? I don't think it sounds right. I can see this turning into a friggin shit fight by the time tomorrows over !!!! He said some thing about the front struts has rings on them or some thing for adjustment ?? thought only Bilstein's had them ?? FFS......cheers Steve

Rule of thumb is:

• 30mm rake (rear is higher than the front)
• 60mm droop. If it is less, you will top out the shocks and damage them. From the video, I can only assume that the shocks have been topping out over those speedhumps.

The TJM struts comes with rings and allows you to add the ring in should you happen to add more weight over the front or they springs sagged. It is similar in concept with Bilstein struts.

If the rings were not installed and assuming that the coils are the right ones for the weight you have, then check that the spring seat was not installed upside down. Can you post some pics of the suspension?

That is absolutely disgusting! Front 790 to 800, rear 30 higher as Andrew said. Normally after the suspension settles, who knows whether it will settle after that. Hope you get it sorted and I would consider passing the information over to the Police as well.

I concur. It looks like they put 2 rings in there? Hutch is a bit more knowledgeable with the TJM gear. I can't see the seat clearly in the photo.

There is what appears to me to be 2 x 20mm strut spacers in there? Just a guess based on my previous life they have the wrong Springs installed in the front for your setup and are using the strut spacers to give the lift to
The front end, is it matched / the same on both sides? They could easily level the front end with a 10mm spacer, 50mm comes in the kit with each strut, never had to use it and my KDSS 150 has only a 10mm in the drivers side to level, the springs do all the work holding my bar, winch etc up,

It would be interesting to see the spring free height measurements and what part numbers they installed. Did they give you an install sheet with all the measurements on it and part numbers used? It's called the TJM XGS installation and warranty form.

Front strut number is 659ge1881d two of them, rear shocks 650ge2881d two of, rear springs 770rr881 front 770fr881. I think I got the springs numbers around the right way but anyway that's the part numbers.... Cheers Steve

Hi Steve, is there any HD after the spring part numbers? Do you have a winch, dual battery system, guards etc up front?

Those are standard spring part numbers for vehicles with no weight on the front end, that is why they have spacers in there. The spacers are the 2 rings below the coil on the front struts, the silver coloured ones.

With 50kg of constant load on the front end, part numbers I would use would be

770FRHD88I - 40mm lift, 50kg constant.
