Thanks mjrandom, I will be ringing this morning on the other number given to me and taking it up with management and see where else it can be inspected for correct fitment. Seems to be fine other then a few loose nuts which they went over every thing again last night. And to be honest I do like the ride, I know there is a difference between the 90's and the 120's but this seems to ride better then the OME I had in the 90's although not a real comparison I suppose between the two unless I drove another 120 with OME to compare. Must say when I heard the word spacers been used I was a bit wary and yes was thinking of the other type tour referring to.....Cheers Steve
Hey Steve, You can have a go at my 120 with the OME if you want to compare the rides although mine is a D4D.
Cheers Jim.

Just a follow up I have reported and supplied a copy of the footage last night to St Mary's highway Patrol I can't really repeat what I was told and will/is being followed up. I thought about some of the comments/replies/pm's I have received and taken on board and made my decision. I also thought that this little prick of a driver didn't even have the balls to apologise to me even though he knows I new it was him, so based on that as well was my reason for reporting it. There is enough in the thread about who it may have been with out me actually saying it out loud and the pm's that have been back and forth have been told who it was. But again I can say on my daughters life I didn't get a single thing from the outcome except for raised blood pressure and some language I very rarely use. I appologise to anyone i may have offended when i first put my original post up with some colourful language which i have since edited Thanks again every one, love this site...... Cheers Steve
Good call there mate - 100% the right one.
I was going to offer a contact (Inspector) at the top of Traffic and Highway Patrol that I know, but obviously not needed....
Going to have to get myself one of these dashcams!
2004 Grande V6 4.0, ARB colour coded bar, Magnum 9k winch, dual battery, HD King springs/Bilstein F4-BE5-A712-MO (front), Airbag Man extended airbags/OME Sport 150R shocks (rear), OziOffroad diff drop, BFG KM2s, Hella 225s, ARB CKMA12 compressor, Rhino-Rack HD bars x3/alloy tray, Sunseeker II awning, Prodigy, TX3340, cargo barrier, 50L water tank with 12v pump, rear storage system, Waeco 60L with slide, rear door table, rear camp light.
Well done Steve - you've made the right decision for sure.
As for the business owner, let alone the workman who drove your car, hang your heads in disgrace.
To be only offered an apology in light of your evidence was foolish and shows ineptitude. Their business reputation will be lost quicker than a slick Prado driving at 99kph on poorly fitted suspension over speed bumps.
Hope the video can be used as evidence for a ticket or other fine. Noting everything so far, it'd be interesting if he wasn't properly licensed.
Hope your luck pics up.

well done Steve, thats the right thing to do, hope you get your suspension all sorted so you can enjoy your ride.
That dash cam looks to be a good thing, seriously considering getting one.

Steve , read the thread and I, agree, to most of the boyz, it's apparent to me you look after your rig, and to see that photo of the strut top flange id be devo'd
especially because that you paid , then the test drive, well that blew me out too/// ..
your initial respect for the mechanic, shows me your true nature and understanding, but i agree with the boyz, it is beyond bad workmanship, bad service and really bad follow up .
this is the reason i work on my own rig, because i dont trust anyone( except wife ) with the keys to the rig, and being honest i stress out when i lend it to family on the odd occassion.. hense that i am proud that as a P.P member you stood up and said this aint right.. hope you get the suspension sorted soon , once all the fuss is said and done you'll love the difference, in the prado's ride. i fitted a ironman 40mm kit, and it has already paid for itself .. such a big improvement than stock... hope its all sorted soon and you get to enjoy a lifted 120, cheers butane.. till then drive the 150
..lets take her out for a spin... butane
WOW. I know exactly who did your suspension as soon as this video started. Very disappointing mate. They did my HSV a few years ago and took it on that exact same route to test -however I was driving! I was always suspicious of the holden mechanics too, trashing the crap out of it when i had it serviced as the L/100kms jumped up so freaking high.
What an awesome idea for the dashcam. Good luck, let us know the outcome!
Hi VX.
I believe you would be referring to us having lowered your HSV a few years ago.
We were based in that factory complex for many years, but due to expansion we moved out of there & down to 129 Coreen ave just over 5 years ago.
Can I also back up Jason's comment 100% IT WAS NOT "wholesale suspension"" in fact there no longer wholesale suspension anyway. IT'S NOT WHOLESALE. Cheers Steve
Can i please start this by saying that this was NOT anything to do with Wholesale Suspension.
I have had a few emails & personal messages with people thinking that this had something to do with us.
I can tell instantly from the driveway at the start of the video which workshop has performed this work. I do feel very sorry for the owner, as he is a decent guy & obviously has a guy working for him that is going to destroy his reputation and his business based on things like this.
Our business used to run out of the factory complex where this occured, but due to space constrictions & expansion of our own business we moved out of there over 5 years ago (probably closer to 8 or 9 years, my memory is bad).
Approx 6 or 7 seconds after the video starts you can see him drive past our most recent premises on the Right with a big Red Spanner on the front of the building just next to Total Tools. This is just before he turns left & aims at the speed humps.
If it had of been something to do with us, this would have been the driveway Steve's car would have pulled out of.
The premises that we were based in at 129 Coreen Ave is now Called Sydney Suspension & Autocare, and please let it be known that they had Nothing to do with this either.
Wholesale Suspension do not have a workshop at all anymore & we are a distributor only now.
I know Steve has told people in P.M's who it was, but i just wanted to end the speculation regarding us.
It is awful to see that a customers vehicle was treated in this manner.
On a personal note, i feel very sorry for you Steve. I had a similar experience many years ago at a Panel Beaters in Wentworthville, and i can name them as they don't exist anymore. It was Simpson Smash Repairs on the Great Western Highway.
I turned up to check on progress on my pride and joy XD Falcon that i had tipped close to $50k at.
I decided to head around to the big carpark out the back of the shop to have a quick look at the progress on the 6 weeks worth of work on the car first before going into the office.
I walked around the corner to 2 massive black lines leading approx 50mtrs across the car park & stopping directly under my back tyres where it was parked. A quick look at the rubber under the guards & a feel of the tyres confirmed it and i went into the office and lost my S#*t!
I was disgusted to think that someone would take it upon themselves to do burnouts in my car.
End result for me was approx $1500.00 discount off my $6k bill & a very embarrassed business owner.
As google is a bit behind (for those that googled the street name and suspension) people could have easilly come to the wrong conclusion as to who this was. Thanks for clearing this up, I'd hate to see the mud sticking on the wrong guys

I feel for the business owner and manager too.
However, the business is their business and their reputation. While the workman is individually responsible for their actions, the business is responsible for its service and its response to this.
The lack of a proper response isn't good enough, and in a way sort of condones the actions and doesn't compensate the customer who, if it weren't for their own awareness, would never have been made aware of this. Not to mention how many other unfortunate customers might have been treated similarly and still don't know it.
The business owner has, therefore, accepted the consequences of their employee's actions by not dealing with this issue in a way that most would see as a fair response. More fool them. As I've said elsewhere, the damage to a business's reputation is 100 times worse than what it would have cost to resolve a single customers complaint. They should have done more. In fact, had they compensated Steve M quickly, without hesitation, and taken immediate action against the workman, the business could have even made strengthened their reputation by demonstrating that they value their customers. Instead, they chose a different path. A short-sighted business decision really.
in hindsight, I no longer feel for the business owner.
They've made a choice to risk their business reputation against the worth of a single employee at the expense of their customer/s. Sadly for them, it is not employees that pay the bills, it is customers. Poor choice.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they realised that they had too much spacer in the front struts and rather than do the right thing and change the spacers the fitter was told to go and shake it up a bit to settle the suspension. Anyway Steve hopefully another TJM supplier will sort it for you without any further problems.

Sorry, maybe i should have been clearer.
I felt sorry for the business owner that an employee would be silly enough to put his Business in that position, not his response to what happened.
Ah yes Jason Simpson Smash Repairers pack of idiots. My old man had his Sandman Panelvan fixed by them scumbags back in the day, they tried a bodgy repair on it had been run up the back of (those were the days lol). My old man use to run the shell service station just down the road on the corner of I think it was called Bransgrove st (Spelling) and the highway, I know bridge rd was at the top (next street up) I lived in fullagar rd between the two.....
