UPDATE:
Confirmed Orders so far..we need 13 in total to get the $280 per unit price.
Order list for the TD1400 colour TPMS: for $280
Bendman Confirmed
Macaroon1 Confirmed
Fatty Boy Confirmed
After my old no name TPMS died i decided a new one was in order, after a lot of google searching, review reading, I decided the TyreDog Colour screen model was for me.
Here are my first Impressions now it is installed.
Out of the Box
Build Quality is reasonable considering it is of plastic construction.
Size is perfect and would be easy to install in tight spaces depending on your own individual preference.
Instruction manual is easy to follow, although it does have the normal chinese to english translation mistakes.
The Wireless Wheel sensors have a nice solid feel to them and battery installation is simple.
The Suction cup base holder and Cigarette socket power cable do the job nicely.
Installing
All depends on where you want to place it, but if on the windscreen it is a 10 second job. I decided to place mine in a more prominent area for me, as i do not like stuff stuck to the windscreen (unless you have too like the dashcam).
The Tyre sensors were a breeze of course and they are labelled for each wheel using the number system rather than FR, FL, RR and RL
They also have the locking collars to help prevent theft.
Real Test
After installing and wiring up to accessory power ( by the way the main unit will operate on 2 AAA batteries) and once power is established the unit powers up and shows a nice animated screen before going into the main screen which shows the four tyres and your main battery.
The menu is easy to use and you can set low tyre pressure setting for both front and rear, as well as high pressure for front and rear.
Quick press of a button and you can select setting for PSI, KPA, BAR or KgCM.
You can aslo set for maximum Tyre Temp up to 70 degrees celcius.
It even shows you the current voltage of your main car battery.
The unit has so far performed great..have tested it with low pressures and the alarm works well, without being overly loud, which you can mute quickly, and then the affected tyre symbol will repeatedly flash in red.
The screen is easy to see, although in direct sunlight on the screen it does become a little harder, but still readable.
The only issue i have had so far is that the locking collars for the wheel sensors do not sit far enough down the valve stem and thus the wheel sensors do not seat fully and you get a slow leak..Tested with with a spray bottle of soapy water and air bubbles shown once applied to senors and valve stem. I do not feel this is a fault of the unit as such bit more of the fact the valve stem is a little too short.
The picture shows my tyre pressures being unequal after a 45 minutes drive..due to the collars.

After removing the locking collars the tyre pressures have remained pretty much the same with a slight variation of .5 psi
Overall i give this unit a 4 out of 5.
Price was $349 postage included, and purchased from Roofrackcity Sydney, http://www.roofrackcity.com.au/
Cheers
