Tyredog unit arrived today. (12 days delivery). Unit was shipped from Singapore. Unit the real deal, just with packaging from the actual manufacturer (www.josn.com.tw). therefore the User manual is not in English. I have emailed them for an English version of the manual. I'll have a good look at it tonight and report back.

So the question is, to get a reliable signal from the trailer do you need a relay unit or will a single unit do the job?
I have the 6 tyre model and yes you need the relay.
But you dont have to mount it to your trailer. I mounted mine behind my spare wheel on AMTS tyre spacer and picked up power off the rear wiper motor.
          Works great

Thanks..just finding it hard to fork out $800 for the unit. There still seem to be some of the old TD2000 units cheap, how much better is the TD2300 and what are the differences?

Perhaps you can get a 2nd 4-sensor unit and mount it near the back of the Prado so that you can hear the alarms. Perhaps mount it as fa forward as possible for good reception and being able to take a quick glans if required.

Sorry should of said i have the old model.
Not sure what is better with the new model.
They only give warnings for pressure & temp and its an audible alarm, so i dont need a color monitor for that.
Looking at the new model online and i cant see anything that is better than the old model.
But i assume they might of improved on the signal strength ?
each time i start the monitor up my pressures are only 0.5 different each day. 1 day 39.5 the next 40.0
Not sure what temp to set the alarm for though ? Anyone got an idea on that ?
