  • Cleaning aluminium sovereign bull bar

Hi, I have been attempting to pollish the bull bar using a metal pollish called "purple" and a lot of elbow grease and although it becomes cleaner it still has a very cloudy appearance, is there another product or better way bring a good shine back to these bars?
Any help would be much appreciated
    Regards

I polished my sovereign bullbar this afternoon using the autosol aluminium polish. Works well, but required a lot of as you said, elbow grease. It definitely has a shine now. I was going to try the metal polish you mentioned, the Purple metal polish by california? My bullbar doesnt appear cloudy or hazy though so Im not sure.

Brasso works best . If its really tarnished ,use some 1000 or 1200 grit wet and dry first . It will come up with a mirror finish .

well, after much attempts I have found that the autosol and brasso do work the best but I had to get a buffer attachment for the cordless drill and attack the bar with that, I would assume it needed so much effort due to the previous owner not bothering to polish it at any stage?

BTW -- thanks for the advise guys, it was much appreciated.

I guess I must lie in this category. The trouble with these bars is they dull so quickly. They look the part, indeed the vertical posts stay shiny for longer, but the underneath bumper bit dulls so quick. Its to do with the cast alloy metal they used. The reason the posts stay shinier is they are hollow or something so don't oxidise as quickly. I've got better things in my life than polishing Toyota bullbars every 6 months, however I would do it when I give the ole girl....or the bb the flick!!
