I'm split both ways, I reckon black rims look good on a white Prado, but I like the alloys on all colours other than white!

Every new car I buy goes straight from the car dealership to a tyre joint for new wheels and at the moment they all get black, Black on Prado, Black on SS uTe and Black on wife's AMG. Yes they are a fad but so is each car I buy, had the Prado for 2 years next month and I'm looking for the next one as this forum has me paranoid about the D4D so better just dump it and move on while it's still worth something

Each to their own but your clearly very passionate on the subject! There is obviously a large portion of people who like them given the after market options available, not to mention the new Altitude rims (yes I know they are a dark grey).

There's a new Shelby GT Mustang near where I live. It's painted in a dark metallic charcoal colour and has matte black paintouts. The rims are same dark charcoal colour. It suits it perfectly, any other colour wheel just wouldn't be the same. There's also a black 120 with 20 inch chrome rims - looks ridiculous. Each to their own I guess.
